    A homebrewed berliner at 3.5-4%

Personally, I wish I could session some Cantillon lambics at 5%. I could take down four or five of those 750s on my own given the chance. Maybe whenever I go to Belgium again.

I agree on the session IPA trend. When I want good hop characteristic at a reasonable abv I generally stick to American takes on German pilsners. Namely, Prima Pils and Pivo Pils. Both are hoppy and they don't taste/feel watered down like the session IPA's I've had.

New England Brewing Galaxy pale ale is actually probably my favorite beer they make. Gandhi Bot and Fuzzy Baby Ducks get all the hype but I can drink Galaxy every day.

There seems to be (as usual) some confusion between session beer (which is a particular sort of beer specifically intended for volume drinking) and beers which an individual likes to drink a few of.
You can race around all day in a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. They become cars you race around in but don't transform themselves into racing cars. A racing car is a specific build such as is used in FI or Indy.
No beer of as much as 5% ABV was ever a session beer. It's an industry standatd term for beers of 4% and under and rarely even used for 4% ABV.

Well... although i think 6% is too high to be sessionable. Based off the OPs requirements Hoppy Birthday would be my winner as far as "clean" beers go.

I view a session beer as a beer I could drink all afternoon without needing a 4 hour nap at 7pm (we've all woken up at 11pm, right?). Also, I turn to a "session" beer when I otherwise don't want the calories or alcohol.

Favorite from the US would be Victory Uncle Teddy's Bitter, and at 3.9% it's appropriate.

Maybe I'm just a lightweight, but a 5.9% beer is not a session beer at all to me.

I saw Gaffel Kolsch on the shelf yesterday. I want to try it but could not fine a date of any sort of a freshness date so I passed. Do you know what or where to fine one?

In the land of session beers 5.9% would be classed as "strong ale" , if you tried to drink it as a session beer is intended you would need medical attention. It's way, way out of sight for drinking 12, 20 or whatever Imperial pints at a sitting. And this sort of consumption isn't unusual .

Carton Boat. It's amazing. I'm drinking one this very second. It's made my life better.
