Searched this forum quite a bit for inspiration for my home bar build. Lucky enough to have had a semi-finished basement with plenty of room to start with, just a blank canvas. I'll start with some demo pics.[IMG] [IMG]

The bar was actually made out of a massive custom built bookcase that a friend found wouldn't fit in his new condo. The wood is 100-125 year old red oak. It even came with the steel that I cut up to use for support for the top. I'm not much of a carpenter, so I went for the rustic look.

Notice the support pole, it can't be moved, so we'll have to modify it to make it useful[IMG] [IMG]

The part you guys care about, and was finished first. I don't have good pics with me, but the kegerator is a converted stainless front refrigerator/freezer with a 3 inch PVC pipe leading into the wall. On the other side are the tap's. Behind the old beer crate "finish plate", there is a 4 inch PVC endcap with holes drilled in it for the taps and a removable coupler between the 3 inch and 4 inch sections for cleaning and disassembly. I'm a few kegs in, and it keeps the taps cold and delivers good, consistent pours. I work for Mack & Volvo, hence the Bullldog tap handle.

My pendent lights are old rotors from a Nascar ARCA series car. The sink is an aluminum oil pan, adapted for sink duty. [IMG]

Used the Kleer Koat product several people have used in order to cover and even out the mixture of license plates and old beer crates that I pieces together on the bar top. Talk about a time intensive process. Lots of thin coats and time spent with a blow torch. [IMG]

Update on the oil pan sink. It is only marginally useful as a sink, but it does still look cool. Good for rinsing glasses, and that's about it.

Looks a little shallow and splashy.

Get an oil pan from a truck, same great concept in triple size.
