Founders Fest 2014

Eat/drink lots of yeast! lol

 

Yeah definitely a spoonful of bakers yeast mixed with a cup of yogurt. One for every beer you intend to drink.

 

Also, bring your own glass. You know, because you know what's best.

 

I don't believe they will let you in with beer, and people don't really line up too much beforehand either. It's more of a party than a beer geek event, at least that what I felt last year. Just expect a ton of great beer, music, and food. There will be plenty of rare stuff too.

 

Great music, good beer selection, just pray it's not as hot as it was last year, I feel they could of had human tacos with that heat. It's one of the better events founders throws. Jealous I won't be there this year, have a beer trip planned for July.

 

When is it?

 

June 21st, tickets are on sale. I believe on eventbrite ....

Yeah, more of a party then a tasting event. Lots of college kids too. Short lines for all of the regular line up of Founder's beers and special long line for the whalez bro. Last year the brewery was closed during the event (not sure if it's like that every year). Great time last year.

 

Yeah, it was really hot. Beautiful weather though. I didn't imagine I'd be sipping on my first ever KBS in 90 degree heat. But it was still great.

 

Whales that people will simultaneously seek out while complaining about their diminished quality.

 

Get there when you like, but this is going to be an all day drinking marathon... So plan accordingly.

As for the whalez(hate to use that term), this won't be a one and done type of line. They'll be tapping special beers all day, so think of it more like waiting in line at Cedar Point. You wait in line for your pour then jump back in line again.

From the sounds of your first post it seems like you are thinking of this as a release. Its more party/street fair than anything else.

You should expect a big party at an awesome brewery with lots of good beer on tap. Be sure to pace yourself, you dont want to be the guy puking in the parking lot while everyone is pointing and laughing.

 

I gotta go to this just to meet Mark Paul Gosselaar..

 

Looking forward to Founders Fest tomorrow and seeing what changes Founders will make. I thought the speciality beer line was much more efficient last year than in 2012, but these events always seem to have more and more attendees every year.
