It's still trickling in to Fort Worth as well. Scoring my third bottle today.

I came here to agree with this, that's exactly what I paid for mine, between $14.99 and $15.99, and $12.75 at one place.

And yes, I'm bitching about the price of most 12oz Prairie beers, I paid $5.29 per bottle when I was in Oklahoma. For Bible Belt and some of the Noir's going for $8+ is a bit high. Just my opinion, you can knock me if you want. The cases I posted were for the lower price and mostly for trades.

I think them"cheaping" out on the bottles is a bad move. I know it probably doesn't matter, but if Dark Lord or Abyss quit waxing the bottles this year I can assure you people would be raising hell about it.

Personally, I care more about what is in the bottle than the wax on the bottle. If people want to bitch about wax or no wax on abyss, then they need better things to do with their lives.

Maybe, but this is BA. We get to bitch about first world problems here. I think when a beer hits a certain price packaging does matter to a degree. I feel like they're cutting corners to increase profits even more.

The wax looked cool and was a good way to tell the batches apart. I never had rust problems.

I'm pretty sure they hand dipped the bottles in wax. Honestly I could see how its a waste of time. If you think wax has much to do with anything towards profits I think you are very mistaken. I think there is a much better way to utilize man power, and all I care about is increasing the shipments of bottles to Texas. Keep in mind they are still a very small operation.

I do agree that wax makes it look better. But, if abyss decided to take off wax from the bottles, I would not complain. Hell, I probably would not even notice until someone brought it up.

No wax does make it a lot easier to open though....

But srs, a convo complaining about the aesthetics of a beer.. excuse me while I drink my great beer that's not dipped in whalez blood. If the seal on the cap is good, who gives a flip.

Jester King doesn't dip their bottles in wax, even at $16/500ml. We all gladly line up to pay that.

    That's $11.36 for a 12oz bottle. Just sayin.

do we have to again go through the exercise of if it is priced at $8/bottle, and sells out quickly every time, it is in no way overpriced?

    also two more points:

1.) if i could pick up parabola at $12.75 a bottle, i'd main line it for a few days until i died.
c.) as a heads up, don't mention that prairie's old wax jobs looked like a particular adult film star's fluid remnants, you'll get WARNED SON.

I liked the wax, it was distinctive. Presentation is important, it's part of the overall experience.

NO YOU'RE WRONG BECAUSE IT MADE ME FEEL BAD THAT IT WAS $8!!!!! IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT I STILL BOUGHT IT AND GIVEN THE CHOICE I'D BUY IT EVERY TIME! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ECONOMICS OF MY FEELINGS!!!

I love that it had no wax, i could open it faster.

That said, id kill to not pay almost 20 for parabola.

I need to go to different places.

Personally I'm glad that all the truck chasers were focused on Parabola this week so I could get some bomb and wine noir after work. It's not cheap but I enjoy the hell out of bomb and rarely have the appetite to drink an entire bomber of high gravity beer. Doesn't bother me a bit.

At Bevmo in CA kind of near to Paso Parabola was going for $17. I've never seen it at Costco in CA, maybe it was new this year? In December CA Costcos had a fair amount of large format bottles and gift packs of new stuff.

Could be new. I was going off of the release thread in the general forums.
