http://www.dmagazine.com/publications/d-magazine/2014/june/the-best-beers-in-dallas?single=1 Can't say I've had No. 1, but have had 95% of them. Very interesting list when they are all compared to each other like this.
Interesting for sure, but I find it hard to believe that Temptress got such a low score, especially when compared to Hop Trapp, which is a mediocre beer, IMHO.
Even as an extreme ticker, I'd hesitate before I sat down to write an article comparing 30 beers of completely different styles all tasted in one afternoon. Thus it should come as no surprise that I find some of the placements on this list objectionable, as I'm sure most of us will.
You're all stating your opinions as fact though, but this list is a collection of opinions and not facts. There's sure to be disagreement with any list, no matter what the results were.
Four Corners Block Party at #5? That's such a disservice to many Dallas area beers. I found it be to pretty mediocre when I tried it last weekend.
Yes, I agree these are just opinions, but I find it hard to believe they are knowledgeable opinions based on this list. Everyone I know who has had beer #1 agreed it was a diacetyl undrinkable mess, myself included.
yea that beer is very very mediocre... At least they have Velvet Hammer and Trinity Tripel in the top ten. Temptress should have been top 3 one big glaring omission in the top ten! Revolver Blood and Honey.
Just saw in the grocery store this is the cover story on D magazine. Regardless of how much we agree with the list, having local craft beer on the cover of D magazine is great for the scene!
All partisanship aside, it's a good testament to the growing Dallas beer scene. I've only tried 4 off the list, so it serves as a good guide for me next time I'm in town.
