I have some special beers I could send for a Christmas BIF. Probably need to do it Sept/Oct though due to weather...

I think the latest we could go is October and even that might be pushing it in some places.

I was treated to a large box on the porch from boney77, a fellow Bartoweler. After dinner with the family, taking my son to a baseball game, and shuffling the kids off to bed, I was able to open it.
I haven't tried any of these brews. Many of these I have wanted to try, quite a few I figured I would never, ever get to try without some heavy duty airfare. Thank you Jay, these are some crazy good brews! We get some great brews in Ontario from BC and Quebec and the Maritimes, but there's this huge swath of Canada that we don't see much of here.

    Here's the tally:

    2008 Cantillon Lou Pepe Kriek
2010 Cantillon Cuvee Saint Gilloise Gueuze (Cantillon Cuvée Des Champions)
    2011 Orkney Dark Island Reserve
    Alley Kat Black Dragon IIPA
Alley Kat Sherbrooke KGB Russian Imperial Stout
Wild Rose Hop Smashed In Belgian IPA
    Wild Rose Belgian Style Dubbel
    Lagunitas Wilco Tango Foxtrot
    Lagunitas Hop Stoopid
Fish Brewing 10 Squared Fish Tale Ale
    Alley Kat - Glenda Sherbrooke
Paddock Wood - Ragutiene Baltic Porter

Cantillon is on everyone's must try list, it's been at the top of mine. I was in Chicago last summer and was wavering between some Lagunitas and Arctic Panzer and Green Flash IIPA's, I had to skip on the Lagunitas due to luggage restrictions, very happy to see it here. I'm excited to try the Glenda Sherbrooke, I visited the Glen Breton distillery before they started producing a few decades back (my mom is from Cape Breton) and I'm always happy to see something connected with that place. I've heard lots about Wild Rose and Alley Kat and I'm looking forward to them. The Dark Island and 10 Squared look enticing too, the DI seems right up there with a Brewdog Paradox or Ola Dubh. Thanks again. I saw in the forums that you are just finishing med school, congrats! ...and if you find yourself in Hamilton, let me know!

Actually it came from me  hope you enjoy. Looks like it was the maple stout from Dunham that leaked, sorry about that, I tried real hard to pack it well.

Glad you liked your box, Patrick, and glad everything arrived in one piece. Sadly, "locals" are few and far between in Calgary, so I had to extend local to all of Alberta. The Alley Kat KGB and Glenda Sherbrooke are special brews available only through Sherbrooke Liqour up in Edmonton. The Ragutiene is brewed by Paddock Wood especialy for Sherbrooke as part of their Gods series and is only available at Sherbooke and Paddock Wood, I think (called that one "local" as well, being from the praries and all). I was trying to get Alley Kat's Saison D'etre in the box before I shipped, but it didn't make its way down to Calgary in time, so I put in the Hop Stoopid instead, which is always aces.

Thanks for the congrats. Funnily enough, I used to live in the Hammer and am returning in July to start my residency there. Going to miss the availability of beer in the wild west, that's for sure, but looking forward to attending the Grand River tasting nights again. We'll have to get together for a brew or two.

A big thanks to TheSevenDuffs and Phyl21ca for organizing an awesome BIF and "good on ya" to everyone involved for making all the shipments smooth, on-time and aweseome!

Well, Hamilton has been getting better for beer, the Judge is a good standard, but a few other bars here are very craft friendly - Casbah and the Brain, and I usually get to most of the Grand River tastings. There is a young assistant brewer at GR, Nate, who has been making some incredible one-off's lately at the tastings - an amazing ginger brew, a double IPA and rumor has it that a coffee porter is in the works with some coffee from Hamilton. Their 5th anniversary is coming up in June I think, so I would expect to see it then. Last spring/summer they had a cask night and they also did a fruit/sour night with some incredible mead from Applewood in Whitby. I'm going to a tasting this weekend with a few other Bartowelers and I think we are all Cantillon virgins!

Thanks again TheSevenDuffs and Phyl21ca, I'm looking forward, and stocking up for the fall!
