I am currently living abroad, dying for good American beer. My friend is coming to visit and has offered to bring me a bomber of my choice. Any suggestions on where he can find something really special to bring? Thanks!
Best readily available bomber in Denver, in my opinion, would be Maharaja. ...Although there are way too many to pick one.
If you can find any AC Golden bombers, I think those are pretty great as of late, and if you bring it to a bottle share pretty much anywhere outside of CO people are usually pretty pleased. I've had a bunch of requests from friends I do beermail with for more AC Golden after sending a first bottle.
Funkwerks Saison might be a nice choice if you like saisons. I kind of like alexipa's choice above though, if you're more into DIPA's. 91 BA rating, 95 Bros. on the Funkwerks Saison, if that matters to you. (Just looked it up to make sure my choice, which was inspired by the fact that I'm plotting out a saison recipe for a Sunday homebrew session, wasn't totally out in left field from the general consensus)
AC Golden bombers or Dry Dock's Blighs, IMO. Or of course any Firestone Walker Reserve beers, but they don't sit on shelves for that long.
Oh, the YETI. Yes. I had the espresso on tap last night…I keep forgetting how amazing all of the Yetis are!
Yeti is the best stout on earth. Espresso Yeti, Chocolate Yeti, Oak Aged Yeti, Yeti Yeti, BA Yeti (GL), Belgian Yeti (meh)..... Get some.
I was Diggin' St Bretta - Spring, 2 of those equal a bomber for a grand total of $14, I also saw some Blighs BBBW, and some over priced Lost Abbey
$14 is a pretty pricey bomber, to me. What as the damage on the "overpriced Lost Abbey" and which one was it? I've been a Crooked Stave fanboy since pretty much day one, but there's something ironical about this post...
I guess for sours/wild ales I expect to pay a bit more, I'm not too familiar with any "affordable" sours, except NG Wild Sour at $10 a 4pk..which is pheonminal. I should have stated that the overpriced Lost Abbey was Deliverance which was like $17 for 12 oz. I think we all can agree on that one
