There have been several threads about what is the best brewery state (surprise! everyone likes their home turf).

Here you have to pick a state that you are touching with some of your favorite breweries, name the state and some of your favorite breweries there.

I live in NJ, NY is my favorite "next-door" brew state. Ithaca, Southern Tier, Sixpoint, yummm.

That's tough in NJ , it's a toss up NY or PA a winner with either hand.

You make a good case for NY, but I'm going to have to go with PA. Between Victory, Troegs, Sly Fox, Weyerbacher, etc there is a great variety of quality beers- from IPAs, various lagers, saisons, BA beers, sours, stouts, and so on...

We have it great in Ohio, with beer neighbors of Pennsylvania and Michigan, and oh yeah, seems to me there is a popular brewer in Indiana as well.......

Favorite? Man, that's tough, but am going Pennsylvania. Victory, Troegs, Weyerbacher...........love them all.

And we here in Ohio are some kick ass neighbors to be had!

I live in CA and my next favorite beers would have to be from Colorado. Like Oskar Blues, Telluride, and New Belgium.

Well, Arizona is a sleeper and I love Texas beers, but it's hard to top Colorado.

hmmm MA borders VT and a few other states...

tough call, but I think I'm going with VT, but honestly CT isn't as far behind as you might think.

I've never had Three Floyds or New Glarus so I'm going to have to go with Minnesota for Surly.

Good points there, for my tastes, PA brewers have more options (and spectacular beers, prima pils, storm king, hop devil, perpetual, dead reckoning, doubke simcoe etc.), but NY has more of my favorites ( ST XXIPA, Flower Power, Resin).

As "subpar" as NJ is (therr are plenty of locals i love but not big recognition), i got a few great neighbors

Yeah- we are definitely nestled in between some really great choices, and I think Southern Tier has produced my most pleasant surprises lately with 2XOne and Grand Arbor, but to me those PA lagers (very well made Pils, Doppelbock, Helles, O'fest) put it over the top. There's also Weyerbacher Insanity, which I don't think any NY brewer can match.

MA has clown shoes, Trillium, wormtown, sam adams, harpoon, jack's abby, pretty things, spencer trappist etc. They get my vote!
