I have an insanity and blithering idiot waiting for the right occasion. Not my typical styles but looking forward to them regardless. I agree that Weyerbacher does a superb job with a wide variety of styles.

I forgot about Rushing Duck in NY! Have you ever had a chance to have their brews @TongoRad? How about you @utopiajane?

I have to admit, I do love the breweries in my own state of Virginia, Devils Backbone, Legend, Blue Mountain, Chaos Mountain... Just to name a few. But, NC has some fantastic brews too, Highland Brewing, NoDa, Olde Mecklenburg, Duck-Rabbit.

Here in Ct I'd have to go with mass. Even though are locals are starting to finally get a lot better (two roads, hooker) I'm talking about you

Damn near everything I have had from them has been top notch- War Elephant, Kroovy, Naysayer, Nimptopsical, Ded Moroz. My local growler station may even have Dog's Bullocks tapped pretty soon, so hopefully I am there at the right time.

In NH but near the MA border; VT is #1 in my book since I can drive to get Heady and have one on draft at Pro Pig but MA is a quick run where my options at the bottle shop expand significantly. ME is no slouch either!

edit - Just realized that in the fridge right now I have Be Hoppy, Heady, and a Lunch - all from border states!

I'll try to keep this comparison to Eastern PA and Lower Hudson Valley/NYC to make it a fair fight. In terms of just breweries, PA definitely takes it over NY. In terms of laws and prices, NY is a tad nicer to buy beer in.

    But Iowa has Toppling Goliath...

All around, I'd have to agree with Wisconsin. Not because they're that amazing, but because Iowa and the Dakotas definitely aren't.

I would like to skip MA and go straight to VT, but since you ruled that out, I'll go with NY. Ithaca, Southern Tier, and Sixpoint.

I love their stuff, have you ever been to the brewery? They give a short, but nice tour (small brewery, can't really give an extensive tour hahah) and are happy to give out lots of samples. Have you had Dogs Bollocks yet? I grabbed a couple bombers when i was there, i thought it was very good, but am not too versed in english style barleywines.
