No sense in saving it for people. It's the regular MC release, it's not the BA stuff everyone here will stab their mother over here to trade around for.

It gets distributed pretty well at that.

I still think that if you're looking for more than a couple bottles and your from NC you should try and make it to the brewery. I know they make a lot but it will go much faster this year.

Looking forward to seeing the response at Westbrook today when they open. It's a shame there is not a live feed to monitor the situation.

If the reception is really strong I may have to get in the car and haul butt to Charleston today and be done with it.

Think about this. What if someone comes Friday like he was told to and they had a certain allotment and it runs out and he can't come back Saturday. How is that fair to him. He did what he was told to get bottles. Beer isn't life. If you can't make it what can you do. Life isn't fair.

People are gonna start expecting breweries to hand deliver cases to your house while you still bitch on BA about some other "unfair" release. Breweries don't owe you anything. They tell you when to come get it. If you can't why would they bend over backwards for you when there are tons of other people who can make the release.

Ready to take my chances in the Upstate, on how many bottles I can acquire. GL folks, headed to the brewery. I'll see you there in July for the REAL circus!

    Love the new avatar Mike!

I understand your point. Maybe it should have been bottle more than a day in advance and there could have been more disclosure as to how many cases would be available. I know in the past things have "sold out" and then become available again randomly. That being said, I don't think Westbrook or any brewery owes me anything as a consumer. I just really want a case of this delicious beer and although beer isn't everything, living relatively close and not being able to secure a decent amount is a tough pill to swallow. I guess I'll have to be content with all the WW, Foothills, Olde Hickory, and Noda beer available and chug my sorrows away.

Edit: I stated that I'm not one of these "the brewery owes it to me" folks before I saw your second comment Mike. I agree whole heartedly.

I am legitimately scared of the BA release haha. I've seen some messy stuff, Huna 14 etc, but this will be an epic fail or success for sure. I just can't imagine how early people are gonna start camping out.

It wasn't personal to anyone. Releases just drive me to the edge. Someone is always unhappy and those people are always the most vocal. They just want what they think they deserve and it's not always that way. There should have a been more of a heads up but that is the breweries choice too. They don't have to give you a heads up. It's nice when they do but it's not required. Also if they gave a month notice there would still be people who couldn't make it and bitch that it isn't "convenient " for them.

We have decided for the BAMC release, to just stack them in a big pile in the parking lot. Then, we will take $200 per person for a chance to grab some from the pile. However, customers will be chosen at random to receive a single weapon for which to increase the chances at getting a case. 200 cases, 800 people, 50 weapons, and a full camera crew. It's the merican way.

You mean the uber rare beer I want but have no expectation of getting isn't already being shipped to my door?

As a retailer, I agree 125%. People get so pissed that they miss out on a beer that they had no chance of even getting in the first place, and we're the assholes who ruined their lives because of it. It's gotdamn stupid, but we see it on every limited release. People will try to ply us by giving us homebrews, rare beers from other States, or just beg to be on a list or lottery. Nothing changes it. We release it when we get it and let the hoarders fight it out. No special release, whether timed, lottery drawing, preorder, or anything has ever worked for anyone. No sense doing it any other way except "Here it is, come get it". Westbrook made the right call, just release it, limit it, and sit back and watch the chaos ensue.

Fair warning: I think people are going to be surprised by how little is going out versus last year. Unless they've got more way the numbers I've heard are almost shockingly low. If you aren't at the brewery today good luck.

Right. Someone is gonna miss out.. everyone can't be happy. I almost wish everything would change to "silent" releases. Much like how Allagash and some other breweries, maybe Bells?, do it. If you ain't in the know then you won't get it. In a way it keeps things more calm at the release and it allows the locals to get first dibs in most cases.

In the end, I'm sure I'll be fortunate enough to at least taste Mexi multiple times in the coming months and that's plenty for me. Only reason I really care about bottles is to take care of my friends across the country and abroad. Oh the pains of being a beer trader...
