I understood you were just saying it just isn't a beer you care for. If you dont like those flavors in general, then I could see you still not liking the BA version. If you generally like those flavors, along with barrel characteristics, but they were too strong in the base, then the barrel aged version might do it for you. Prominent flavors generally mellowing with age, along with barrel characteristics, might make a more balanced beer for you.

Seeing a lot of hate for regular Cherry Stout. I actually really like it. Wish I could make it up to the General Store to grab a bottle of this...

I really like normal cherry stout, the only drawback was that where I'm a it is priced around the same as expedition stout..

Exactly. Fruit in general will drastically increase the price of making a certain beer.

@hamsterhero515 and anyone else that cares they still have it available, couple 100 bottles left, so I was told.

I just left the general store & there was about 40 bottles in the cooler. I didn't check the walk in or ask how much more they had

To throw another thought out there, Cherry Stout ages as well as any other Bell's beer I have had. The bottle from 1988 opened last Eccentric Day was by no mean stellar but it was still fairly enjoyable. At about 5 years the stuff is outstanding.

Excellent. I took my wife out to dinner tonight and told her I wanted to visit Kalamazoo first thing tomorrow so I could pick up some bottles. She was cool with it but I know I'm in for more than two bottles at Bell's. That's OK. Happy wife, happy life.

Stopped in to pick some up last night. The guy running the register told me there were 188 bottles left. Started with 1700. No doubt it will be gone by this saturday evening.

Remember when everyone freaked out in this thread and there is still more of this stuff available.

EDIT: I hope everyone is enjoying the BBA Cherry Stout. I just think this whole thing is nuts. People seem to have forgotten that sharing is caring :grinning::grinning::grinning:

I was in the store yesterday. I'm not crazy about the regular cherry stout so I was hesitant about getting a bb cherry stout. But the guy said it was good so I got one. Then when I looked it up I realized it must be pretty darn good. I'll bring it to a beer share. I also brought a growler to fill BUT I found out you have to buy their special growers that can hold the pressure. So it's a pressurized fill? I forgot to ask but does anyone know how long these growlers will keep before having to open it? Btw I got Experimental Hop 2014-3 which I had a taste of and is a delicious fruity Amber ale.
