Fellow BeerAdvocate Erick_G tipped me off that certain beers are available for purchase directly from the Mikkeller website, and the shipping isn't actually as bad as I thought it would be. Once I have the cash, I'll definitely look into getting some stuff straight from Mikkeller this way. I had no idea any brewery was doing this. I didn't even know it was legal! Are there any other breweries that offer the option of buying their beer directly from their website?

Awesome! Didn't even know this brewery existed, and they specialize in ridiculously high-rated sours which is a style I really haven't dipped my feet into. One to remember. Thanks!

That's surprising. I don't really like Rogue ales, but the fact that Rogue sells online makes me wonder why other breweries like Dogfish Head, Stone, and Founders don't also sell online.

It's a sadly limited lineup, but there's a couple great beers there, and the shipping is very reasonable. Thanks!

When I last ordered from them, they were only shipping to CA. That may have changed, but you should check. I wasn't too happy with my order when I got it, two duds and the excellent Oude Tart for $70-80 was a huge bust.

I know liquor laws prohibit it in a lot of states, but I wish all breweries did this.

Check the Ohio law on this. As Rogue points out on their web site, certain states prohibit importation of alcohol by private citizens. For example, I can find places that will ship to me, but it's against PA law for me to have untaxed (by PA) alcohol in my possession.

Born and raised in PA, ran a few bars while I was there and it was a pain with all the back-asswardness that you have to deal with but I will say, living in WV now, PA gets a much better distribution

Don't understand why most breweries don't do what wineries do.....ship stuff to your house.

Lazy ass buearucrats. They don't want to do the work to get the laws adjusted to make sense (i.e. wine direct to home but not a brewer) unless it benefits them personally somehow to make it worth their while to lift a finger.

Obviously it's not what you're asking, but every brewery I know that does sell directly has been mentioned. Anyways, you might want to consider online beer stores?

    www.france44.com Surly online
www.wineandcheeseplace.com Best bottle shop in my area. The selection is probably pretty similar to your local shops, but there's probably something that you can't get. And of course, our locals. Perennial Artisan Ales is the most popular, but 2nd Shift never disappoints, 4 Hands is a very quick up-and-comer, as is Alpha brewing, and of course there's Schlafly.

Colorado won't ship out of state, I learned the hard way when applejack.com cancelled my $150 order. I found a couple great sites in halftime beers.com and craftshack.com. Shipping hurts but a good way to get some good stuff.

I've been to cascade before it's very clsoe to where I live, very good sours and you can get tasters of almost everything for around 2 bucks each
