I know this is heresy but because I need to watch calories and still put back a few what is the best light beer ie. 120 cal or less. For the record I drink a lot of SNPA but like to start my evening with a lighter brew.

I'm sure there are MANY beers around this calorie per 12 oz mark, of many different styles and flavor profiles. Here are a few to consider. Full Sail Session Lager - 130 calories...Jolly Pumpkin Bam Noire - 129 calories...Aecht Schlenkerla Helles - 129 calories...Guiness Stout - 126 calories. Flying Dog Tire Bite - 124 calories.

Just burn more calories than you take in. The beers will taste a lot better after a couple of deadlifts anyway.

Sam Adams Light 4.3% abv - 119 calories (don't sleep on this one, I legitimately think it's a solid beer)

Cisco Sankaty Light 3.8% abv - 126 calories

Wachusett Light IPA 4% abv - 121 calories (haven't seen this one around this year yet though)

Notch Left of the Dial IPA 4.3% abv - 140 calories (again, another beer you may not be able to get, but between the three session IPAs here, hopefully you can get an idea of how the session IPAs scale between calories and abv)

Founders All Day IPA 4.7% abv - 147 calories

Also check out this link for lower calorie craft beers for the summer. I apologize, Sam Adams Light was the only one I found that was under 120 calories.

Where did you find the calorie count for Honker's and Yuengling? I've never been able to officially find either, just for Yuengling Light.

Let's move the "session ipa" to this category of "light beers" and be done with it.
    Thanks!

For a "close enough" estimate, multiply the ABV x 31.

    5% beer ~ 150 calories
    4% beer ~ 120 calories
    10% beer ~ 310 calories

    lol - DFH 120min 540 also…

tactical nuclear penguin 960…and the worst part after you have either of these is you're going to need a cheeseburger, quick.

You could always just have a beer less often. Just saying Id rather have 1 SNPA than 2 BLs.

I like the way you think. An hour of WALKING on the treadmill is about 300 calories. That's a pint or two right there!

Rule of thumb is to multiply the ABV times 30. Another site does all that complicated math for us. Is it **** Beer? Or Fake Beer? I get confused. Too many DFHWWS tonight. (Tactical Nuclear Penguin? Come to Papa.)
Oops, I see Markdrinks revealed the secret formula somewhere above. Doggone intelekule types.

Just eat right and excersize, then you won't have to worry about counting beer calories.

I've been on a AAL kick of late, and find that Coors light and Genessee beer are both quite scratching that light beer itch quite nicely. After knocking back a 24 oz, I still feel hydrated which is never the case with a microbrew IPA/IIPA. For the record, I am talking about AALs in cans.

Not sure on the calorie count but Evil Twin's Bikini Beer is seriously light and nicely flavorful.

So, let's see...SA Utopias at 29% times 31...that's 9, carry the 2.... 899 calories for a 12 oz pour for a price tag of about $85 (YMMV). Seems like the way to go. Just walk for three hours before hand as you'll be staggering afterward. Plus the lightened wallet should count for something as well. Or perhaps a 2 oz pour for 150 cal/$14 might be more in line with normal calorie counting?
