Went to buy some Jai Alai today and flipped it over to look on the bottom and there was no canning date stamped. There is a nuberical code next to the UPC. Anyone know how to read this?

i saw some jai alai yesterday at knightly spirits and it was canned on 5/14, which is definitely past the time they installed the new canning line. where did you buy yours at? i hope its not the ones from september during that brief period where they didnt have canning dates on them :/

First run I think on the new canning line, still pretty damn fresh. All is fine, new dates are super easy to read, thanks!

No dates on a shipment of white oak that hit Orlando yesterday. I was told it was from 5/13 or 14.

I just picked some up and the dates were much easier to read. Maybe the lack of dates was a transition issue affecting a relatively small number of cases?

Last 2 weeks have seen a dateless batch of Invasion show up as well, so I wouldn't worry about it. The UPC code I think is meaningless (to us, anyway)... a lot of breweries using Ball cans have a code by the UPC that doesn't seem to translate at all to the printed canned / best by date on the bottom.

They are all way too old and you should give them to me for research purposes.

Was at CCB's tap room Wednesday a week ago. Plenty of 5/14 White Oak Jai Alai in the reach in along with 5 for 5 Barleywine and IPA. Stamped with the dates. I talked to Billy about the new canning line and they're still working out some kinks before they can crank it up to full capacity. Once it is running, they will be taking down the old canning line and presumably using the space for more fermenters.

between the transition from the old canning line to the new one, we did a couple batches of beer on a super-condensed version of the old canning line to make due. that meant those batches didn't have dates on them since that part of the line had to be taken down to make room for the new line. the new line is dated and has pretty awesome clarity on those dates.

Sunday morning I bought some ten day old Jai Alai at my Publix. Yes, the date was very clear!
