Buying a case isn't hoarding. Buying 5-6 at a store that got 8 cases is.

how did you get a case on Friday when the limit was a 6 packl? you are bitching about hoarding - seems hypocritical.

First: I am NOT bitching about hoarding. I'm bitching about people buying 5-6 cases, when Whole Foods only got total of 8. Then making a PROFIT, selling it for double or triple the original amount. Second: The original limit was 12, which I was planning on. Didn't find out that it was cut to 6 until I was there, in line. Had my wife there with me. 2 x 6 = 12. That's how! Cheers!

i got my 6 bottles and didnt bring people with me to get more. Could have used my job to my advantage to get more considering I know all the buyers of the retail shops but I didn't. Enough douches out there working the system.

I love my job. We weren't around when Westbrook started, so I could careless (i prefer COAST anyway in terms of SC beer).

Fortunately I lucked out and got most of my intended amount on Friday. My target was originally 2 cases (between me and girlfriend when the original limit was 12) but I managed to come away with 17 total thanks to a couple of friends. As for the Whole Foods scenario, I can't blame the person if they were being an opportunist and no limit imposed when clearly WF should have known better. That being said, I'm glad I didn't obligate myself this year to trading where I'd need more than a couple of cases. I stopped at Total Wine this morning and picked up 2 and picked up 2 at Bottles this afternoon as well and my trading needs are met.

So you're saying the original 17 bottles are for personal consumption? Seems excessive to me....

Personal and guest consumption. I try to cellar some and pop open some any time an out of town beer enthusiast is visiting me  Also have you ever made crockpot chicken using mexican cake? I did that last year and turned out great.

Lol no I can't say I've ever done that seeing as how this is the first year I've ever had MC. I guess I just didn't plan on sitting on any since it's recommended to be drank fresh and based on what I have read, the chili pepper really dies off with aging, kind of defeating the intent of the beer.

Yes, the heat wanes and the cocoa comes out more. Seriously, if you get a few bottles, try one every 2-3 months and take notes each time to compare (yes I did that with what I got last year). Earlier this year I tried some cellared mex cake from a couple of years ago. Very chocolaty. I may be odd that way, but I am a flavor enthusiast (I just got into craft beers 2-3 years ago so I am not the most traditional/conventional enthusiast) and like to compare these things in stouts/porters/barleywines.

Oh and mex cake cupcakes for the win!
