Yeah, I saw this thread. I don't need to recap the entire course of my arrangements and exchanges with ggfunk, but I'll say that I reached out to him in good faith, I tried to communicate with him about my travel plans, and I never for a moment had any intention of screwing him over or doing anything shady with any of this.

I messed up. I didn't really have the plans set to meet up with him at a specific time or place when I was in town, and before I knew it, my trip was over. It was a whirlwind weekend trip where I didn't make the specific itinerary but instead largely went with the flow of a group of people visiting from out-of-town and nothing really set in advance, and I obviously didn't do enough to lock down arrangements for the beers ggfunk picked up for me. I take responsibility for it, and I tried to offer him money to cover the full cost of the beers he picked up, and several times have offered to send him a package for his troubles. He declined my offer to PayPal him the money, just like he declined my offer to send him money before he ever went to pick up the beers in the first place (to his credit, he offered to let me just pay him in cash-- but we can all see how poorly that worked out). "In the interest of full disclosure"...

I'm not trying to shirk any responsibility for this, because it was my solicitation and my (poorly conceived, poorly executed) plan. I'll be sending a box of some nice beers to handle this situation directly with ggfunk, and I'd say that will be that.

wait - there was an offer of payment up front ? that, well, changes things up a bit i'd say. yes, i'd agree that is that.

I agree... if there was payment offered up front before purchasing the bottles and it was declined, well...

Seems like lack of planning and carelessness on both sides.

Paypal was offered for payment but I was nervous about waiting for it to post as the payment would have initated on the 15th and I was picking up the cases on the 16th. If possible I'd like to have this thread deleted now as I do not believe there is anything else to be gained from it.

    Papal posts pretty much immediately.

But, it's all good. Seems like lesson learned on both sides. And, I can only imagine all the offers of really nice bottles for the Adam's.

PP posts immediately but takes 2-3 business days to transfer it into your bank account which is a pain in the ass as he probably couldn't pay HotD via paypal.

But instead he decided to use his own money rather than having the reassurance that the money will be there and not technically be out any money.

If he did take the payment up front would Cguiroga of made the proper plans to pick up the beer?

Oh I'm not debating that, I stay out of these conversations lol. I'm just saying waiting for money to transfer from paypal to bank account sucks.

HA I completely agree, that’s where having a paypal debit card comes handy.

If we lock it, it should remain up for reference so other members can see te inforation and make their own judgment on similar situations which may affect them.
