No I get the point. He was lumping everyone who enjoys rare beers in the Douche category.

My clubs don't touch those awful mats. They only strike through the finest of Bermuda. And I only hit brand new ProV1's at the range.

My refined palate can only handle Whalez if lesser beer enters it's immediately rejected and if I somehow muscle it down my stomach refuses it and I vomit it's really bad so yeah walez bruh

Again, I think you are clearly missing the point. That is not what was said, or implied. There's no point in taking this discussion any further, because if I have to explain it to you, then you probably won't understand anyways.

No please do. I'll even ignore the fact that you insulted me when there was no need to do so.

He said he a would like to call all rare beers douche beers. From that I assumed he meant that people who drink douche beers must be douches.

What did you take away form his comment?

I'm appalled by all the peasants drinking shelf beer in this thread. So Savage.

I recently came to the realization that I pretty much only drink seasonal releases these days. Even from my favorite breweries, for example, I hardly ever pick up Founder's Porter or FBS, I just wait until November and start crushing Founder's Imperial Stout. I'm not out hunting or only drinking whalez like Heady Topper or Dark Lord or whatever, but, to me, most breweries' seasonal beers are a cut above their year-round line up. The nice thing is, there's so many great breweries with seasonal beers at the right times of the year that I can basically always get something awesome. But in these summer months, that's when things can get a bit dicey. Around this time of year is when I enjoy a lot of Narwhal and Ten Fidy to get my summer Imperial Stout fix.

Am I a beer elitist? I don't know. Not yet, I don't think, but with my consideration toward starting soon to order direct from Mikkeller and other online stores... I'm probably well on way.

Love this thread, laughed a few times. I'm in the little bit of both. However some places that aren't beer stores have a really nice selection.

Wait, you mean you actually go to a store, in person, and purchase malt beverages?? I have brewers bring their beer to me. If they're lucky I wont DP in front of them.

If you want walez, you gotta step up your game, you must be small-ballen bro.

My weekly beer selection includes a mix of craft brews and AAL, and 99% of what I drink every weekend is "shelf beer."

It's a mix, but it's far more rare that I hunt for rare beers of the Import or Craft stripe. Maybe being in the 40-60 age bracket and a bit "set in my ways", nowadays, helps? :sunglasses:

P.S. A fresh 12 of "Carling's" finest is calling out my name as I type this, yo.
