Picked up a 32 oz. growler of Wicked Weed's Hop Burglar, along with some other Wicked Weed goodies. Excellent.

So my father in law whom I love dearly has been drinking carling all day which is quite possibly the worst beer on the planet
I've given him a Buxton Wyoming sheep ranch dipa
    He's rather impressed

A productive day. Got the garden in, mowed the lawn, cleaned the cars' interiors of all the accumulated winter crap.
Looking forward to the rest of the day with my wife, but she got called into work. As she left she said I needed to do the grocery shopping. Which I did gladly. On my way to the supermarket I stopped at When Pigs Fly, where I had a falafel sandwich with Oxbow Farmhouse Ale.

[IMG] Very nice beer, but at $8.99 I would choose so many better beers 2 or 3 dollars less. Why do these tiny local breweries have to charge so much?

    Playing catch up from yesterday.
First a trip to the BuckleDown tap room in Lyons. These guys don't seem to make a a bad beer. I had the Belt and Suspenders and my friend had a Knowitall, both were quite good. We shared a Stompbox, an Imperial Stout, that was really terrific--they've got it aging in some Woodford barrels, will be a tasty treat when it comes out! Definitely take a trip there if you are in the Chicago area!

Later, that day, it was time for dinner. Humboldt Fog, one of my favorites--Greywulfken, are you looking!

Then we had Alpine Pure Hoppiness. I loved this, more than the Duet. Really sweet and tropical! I love the old-fashioned, kinda cheesy Alpine labels!

And then finally, we opened a bottle of Toppling Goliath Naughty Temple. I'd been warned to let it age a bit, but I'm not opposed to so-called hot beers. It was very boozy, in fact, couldn't really taste anything but the bourbon-y goodness (this batch was apparently not aged in Templeton Rye barrels, but allegedly Pappy). I loved it, but my friend was not thrilled. I'll let the bottles I have left sit a while before I try it again, but it was good for me!

So, after all those delicious beers yesterday I missed the Good Form Running clinic I was supposed to go this morning at 9:00 a.m. :grimacing: As a punishment, I had to do my 5-miles in the midday heat. So, what do you do after a run when you are hot and sweaty and very thirsty? Why a shower beer, of course. And what says shower beer, I ask you, more than a hoppy treat from the Mesozoic era--PseudoSue! Cheers to Saturday and cheers to life's simple pleasures!

No pretty picture of glassware today... these are being enjoyed on the deck straight out of the can. And I'll be honest, I think canned Oberon & Two Hearted may just be the best thing since Oberon and Two Hearted themselves.
