I'm guessing the lack of barrels available to age the beer in but I don't know for sure.

 

Wow... Amazing beer yes, but they should be reprimanded by Larry himself for charging that much for a $5 bottle... Sorry you had to pay that bud!

Thanks. My feeling is that it was worth it for a first and potentially only taste of this legendary beer. I enjoyed it, but could not bring myself to pay that price again. Last year, I scored a bottle of BCBS for $8 (and thought THAT was high). Therefore, $8 is my price ceiling for any bourbon barrel stout unless it is something that I never tried before.

 

I'm with you and I would pay that as well if it was my first ever chance. I can't say anything since I buy at least one WWS each year... Little different though since WWS is known to be between 10 and 12 at all times. BN is definitely worth that price anyway.

I can imagine the time and cost that goes into these annual BA stouts is A LOT.

 

Grabbed a couple of them yesterday for about $7.30 a bottle (inc tax). Was the first time I had ever had it, also had KBS and BCBS for the first time in recent months and I would put Black Note on top of the three but not by much. To be honest, none of them really impressed me much. Guess I'll stick to my IPAS and DIPAS.

 

I actually picked up two stray bottles at Whole Foods last weekend $5.99 a bottle

 

Sounds great! Leave the BA Stouts to those who truely savor and enjoy them.

 

KBS > BN > BCBS, imo.

 

My friends and I scored in this order: BCBS, BBPt5, Black Note, KBS.

As a minor note. I recently brought a Black Note to a May Day party to share and had it stolen out of our cooler. These were really nice people and I assume whoever took it didn't realize its scarcity. If you're bringing special beer to a party, leave it in your car or stash it deep in the cooler or fridge!

 

So "stolen" might be a bit harsh ... sorry for your loss though! This is why I drink alone...in the basement...with the windows drawn.

 

I couldn't help myself, I have been wanting to try it for quite some time, thank you. I did put a can of Miller Lite back in your cooler as kind of a pay back.

 

And I thought I was the only one...

 

hmmm may have to setup a trade this is an amazing beer if you can find it

 

I have some for trade if anyone has a spare huna laying around!

 

Has this been released in distribution again? Seen it pop up outta nowhere in the last week at several places.
