Dropped off a box headed to the Keystone state. Scheduled to hit your porch on Friday.

Other than the 3 wants, mostly stayed with Texas locals and the requested styles. But being from Texas "local" is a very broad term. Includes beers from 12 different breweries.

Packed my smaller "I'm sorry for breaking my shipping date" box. Hitting a few wants and lots of great texas locals!

 

Does everyone else agree this has been crazy successful? I don't think we are the only ones viewing our posts. Plenty trolling and wishing they joined. Can't wait for the next BIF.

That only happens going N/S, heading E you can't miss it because you'll get wet.

Not at all arguing with you sending extra beer... but since the shipping window was supposed to be "first half of June", how could you have missed it?

 

I will most likely be shipping Monday so I think the box should arrive on Wednesday.

Hint #1 - Shipping West, but not past the Rockies.
Hint #2 - The minimum wage in my target's State is under $8.00.
Hint #3 - My target has posted on here 3 or more times.
Hint #4 - Dave Matthews Band is playing two shows near me in two weeks, they will also be playing in my target's state within the next month.
Hint #5 - Another great live act has scheduled a small fall tour and they will not be playing in my state, but they will be hitting up my target's state.
Hint #6 - The other live act has a DFH collaboration beer and they are doing a very small tour so it should rule out one or two people.
Hint #7 - My target has not shipped yet. (Or at least they haven't advertised that they have shipped.)
Hint #8 - My target has not posted since my last hint.

 

As one of those following along, I agree! Wish I hadn't missed the NBO! I've been keeping a spreadsheet of hints and probably know more about who is sending to whom than most that are actually in the BIF Cheers!

 

Couldn't agree more. I've actually been thinking another round might be nice. People can leave the BIF if they want and we could add others but everyone would get a target from a different/new state. Might be a bit premature since several people have yet to ship/receive packages. In any event, this has been great.

Pretty sad that I just shipped today but I am already wanting the next round to start.

 

This has been great. I've been super impressed with the results thus far.

I hope my target continues to be patient. I will absolutely get this box out in the shipping window.

I'm totally in for another round, but let's give it at least a few weeks, my wallet could use a little recuperation time.

 

I agree with both comments. Also, if two people agreed to run it together, the way the guy in charge wouldn't get screwed out of the fun of figuring out his sender. I would consider running one of these, but would hate to miss out on the analysis :-)

 

My wallet could use a break too, but this was a ton of fun. Since we did this in the spring/summer time, maybe we should do a 2nd one in a few months when the breweries are featuring some different styles. I'd love to try some local stouts and Octoberfest beers when the seasons change.

 

I'm in for the next one. I have never shipped a growler before, but ready for the next bif.

Future hint #1: growler from a micro brewery next to the border of Mexico.

 

Just out of curiosity, how do you ship a growler? I assume you stick to smaller growlers with the rubber-stoppery-flip-top (I think that's the technical term for it) as opposed to screw-on lids. Other than that do you just package it more carefully? IIRC, @valrxman shipped some growlers to @_RL_ last week, were there any issues at either end?

 

I have always shipped screw top growlers without issue, every growler I have had shipped to me with a swing top lid has leaked slightly but all have made it with most the beer in them. I first stretch wrap the screw top lid, then wrap the growler with a couple layers of bubble wrap, put it in a trash bag and in a separate box within a bigger box.

I have shipped and received growlers. Lots of bubble wrap and tape around the top.
