"'Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity' – A malt forward Brown Ale"

By definition, aren't brown ales malt forward already? It seems that only the few India Brown ales that have surfaced (Terrapin, Dogfish Head and probably others), where they have changed that focus to be hoppier and that is the exception that needs to be qualified. It seems redundant to say a malt forward brown ale.

Having said that, I am still very psyched to check out this series with Holst on the headphones!

Definitely keeping these on my radar! It makes me happy that Bell's will finally release some new bottled beer outside of the eccentric cafe after years of the same old tried and true, but growing predictable beers. There are some extremely interesting sounding ones at that, though I do think Jupiter and Mercury sound kind of bland from the description (but a well done brown and belgian single is hard to come by from US brewers, and would be welcome if they are great). And Mystical Stout? Lolwut?

All about this. Hope to see some (or all!) of these in NY. Especially looking forward to Mars, Venus and Saturn.

I laughed my ass off when reading this, then asked myself, would I be excited? Yes, yes I would.

    Yeah, I don't know who I'm kidding -- I'd have a mule up there in a heartbeat.

My vote is for a Pluto mead. It's not quite a beer, but it's got similar qualities.

    Let's check those descriptions...

Mars, Venus, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune: double, honey, apricot, vanilla, cardamom, bourbon barrel-aged, black, mystical

    Jupiter, Mercury: malt forward, single

In my case, Jupiter and Mercury are most likely the two that I'm most interested in.
I'm getting a sense for your preferences. :grinning:
I'm just playing. The more in-your-face offerings will get more talk here.
I certainly agree that good Belgian "singles" aren't falling from the trees in the US. Looking forward to that one above all else.

I'm going to have a difficult time at the bar saying "I don't know if i'm going to like it, so can I have just a little taste of Uranus?"

While I like BA stouts more than mead; your argument makes more logical sense. Bravo!
