Just broke my first glassware along this craft beer journey. I still remember the day I got it. I was sitting at the Anteater Pub at the university of irvine drinking a new castle, which I thought was the end all for good beer, when a stone Sales Rep said "if you buy a pint you get the glass." My first glass and my first introduction to "craft" beer.

RIP good friend and may a Ruinten be poured into you in Valhalla.

    The good ol' days...snif, snif.

What is your favorite glassware, or a particular glassware that holds a special place in your heart?

I still remember the day I broke my first glass, it was the Weihenstephan weizen last year. I had it inverted on the counter for drying and my elbow knocked it off the counter to the floor. I have since gotten a replacement pretty soon after that. It was pretty devastating though at the moment. Just be glad it wasn't a hard to find rare glass!

My condolences, OP. That said, at least you can go out and buy a replacement, right?

I destroyed one of my two favorite glasses a couple months ago. And I've been unable to find a replacement thus far.

Here's a picture of the remaining one alongside the largest fragment of the departed...

I break glasses after every session pretending I'm a guitarist breaking an instrument after every gig.

ARGH, unbelievable. I saw this and instantly thought "oh man that Old Gordon's glass". I was so pissed when I went to empty the dishwasher to see this in pieces. I put thinner and more fragile glasses in there all the time and this one decided to go. Man I am still sad :slight_frown: loved that glass. I now hand wash all my fancy glassware (especially my Leutte Bokbier glass).

That is true but I'll know it's not the original. The only real value the glass had was the nostalgia. Glad it wasn't some super dope rare glass though because it would been even worse.

I've lost more glasses than I can remember. Some if the best ones were broken in the sink by hand washing.

That is how I broke this glass.

Don't drink and wash. Help spread the word.

Lost a few in the dishwasher, that one if memory serves me I accidently tapped against the sink, but I'm sure it might've gotten weakend in the dishwasher...

I would love to replace some but my wife would flip out. I still have over a 100 in the basement including steins...

My recent "accident" was with my Beer Mug.

    You will be missed.

Many of beer passed through it. Now I'm feeling all depressed and such...

At one time I had two of these shakers...one is long gone just like the brew pub it came from. It's around twenty years old...about the time I got into craft, the pub made very good beer and it was a great place to drink a few pints while on vacation...this one glass and a T-shirt (Hammerhead Stout) is all that's left...and the memories...

My favorite glasswear isn't glass at all. In the late 1980's, I purchased a glazed pottery tankard from a renaissance fair in Southern California. It holds about a quart of beer and has survived a long long time. It's nothing special to look at but it's stronger than any flimsy glasswear and holds a big big pour.

As far as glasswear is concerned, my favorite piece is a pretentious beer glass (etsy brand) hand blown black and tan glass. It's completely bad ass as it holds about 4 ounces of beer in two separate chambers, mixing your black and tan perfectly each time you take a sip. My Wife got it for me for Christmas last year and it's awesome.

It's a sad day when we break a favorite glass. But you will move on. It doesn't seem like it now but keep your eyes open and it will appear to you like a gleam in your minds eye . . . the next best glass.

Could have been worse. You could have broke it while it was full of beer.
