Lets not rehash the Bishops Barrel thing again. It is what it is, and really not that hard to get. It is only a slight annoyance for people that just have to have it to go. This board repeats itself more than my closet full of old scratched up records.

Not trying to be rude, I'll explain in more detail at another point in time. I wouldn't even know where to start.

Just a starting point, Prairie makes very good beers (Im a big fan) but they don't have near the following St A's does yet which is part of the reason it sits on shelves. Yes, they may have a small following amongst beer nerds but St A's kinda crosses a few different demographics of beer drinkers.

With the size and capacity St A's has they can't just brew huge amounts of BB (yet) due to space. If St A's released BB to off premise accounts they would have to exclude many of their other accounts that also carry St A's which results in a lot of "butt hurt" and could result in some accounts to stop carrying St A's. Also, with the amount if BB currently released it would never sit on shelves very long if released to off premise accounts due to the following they have, especially in Houston (even with bottle limits).

Also, Im not sure but I think part of the reason St A's does the on premise only thing with BB is so more people at least have a chance to try it. With the small amounts they brew right now a lot if people would never even have a chance if it were off premise then everyone would be bitching about that. I'd think once they are able to expand their BA'ing program enough they will start releasing off premise but I really don't know.

The list goes on and on...hope that helps a little.

Holy fuck, I really need to stop typing shit on my iPhone while being distracted. "I don't even know where to start (distracted at Specs; 30 minutes later)...just a starting point".

I figured you meant something along those lines. More like apples to pears than apples to oranges.

Prairie is pricing themselves out of the market. Bomb is about $6 but BB and WBN were $8, which is just too much for 12 ounces of beer. BB is a stellar beer but I can't justify buying it more than once or twice. Wish they'd produce beers in a larger format.

I have to agree here. I won't be buying bottles that leak, nor should that be acceptable at any price. It's not an insult to Prairie to have expectations of their product (especially when you want to buy it). I hope Prairie fixes this issue soon as I like to drink and trade their beer.

I enjoyed bomb quite a bit, but it's s just a good stout (nothing to frown at). I think Prarie Hop is their best to style...phenomenal brett beer with wood! Overall they make great beer and are a treat once in a while.

As far as I know, Hop is not aged in barrels. Never had any hint of wood at all. Just a hoppy saison with their house yeast blend (which contains some brett).
