I had this the other night and was very, very impressed. It reminded me of Central Waters Illumination, but with something even more. Definitely one of the best IPAs I've had brewed in the state of Iowa. It's great to see Peace Tree branching out and making beers that don't use their house Belgian yeast. Also nice to to able to give big props to one of Iowa's biggest breweries for brewing an IPA of this class that isn't TG. Wish it was a year round beer.

What IPA did it remind you of?

Ha...right as you posted that, I went and edited my post to mention it reminded me of CW Illumination, but better.

I had it last night, and was impressed as well. Easily the best Peace Tree beer I've had, and I'll grab another if it's still available. Looking forward to trying No Coast, as I've heard good things about it, too.

I just had this too. My impressions were the same. They knocked it out of the park.

yeah, it's really good. the price ain't bad either. their last 3 beers are their best so far IMO (along w/no coast & indecision).

hard to disagree with what everyone is saying here. i was very impressed. definitely the best beer that Peace Tree has put out. i'd love to see them bottle it in their stubbies.

    Excited to try it though

I agree with everything here. Really good beer. Personally I feel like it's better than the Backpocket IPAs. And although they would probably continue using the Belgian yeast they realize that that's not what the people want. Also, Indecision was decent too. Glad to see that along with Blonde Fatale they can brew other styles very well!

Tried Royale 41 last night, and definitely agree with everyone else's thoughts. By far the best of Peace Tree's I've had so far, although I did miss out on No Coast. I really hope this is the start of them branching out more from the belgian yeast they use in most of their other beers, which I am not a huge fan of. I'd say Illumination is a valid comparison, maybe DirtWolf as well? Hopefully they start brewing this on a semi-regular basis, as I'dl definitely buy it again!

Drinking one right now, it's alright, but for a buck less I could have bought Enjoy By or for a few dollars more I could have bought Citra Ass Down. These two other beers were on either side of Royal 41 at Ale Jail, and both are vastly superior IMO. Still, not a bad beer by any means.

I would like to try Citra Ass Down, but I'm not paying $15 dollars for an IPA bomber.

Same. I cracked one next to an Enjoy By and they weren't even close to the same quality IMO. I won't be buying this ever again.
