Saw that too. Wonder what the base/beer is? Two versions is pretty solid. Wonder how the release will go? Have to figure it will be completely ridiculous though after how much VSB has blown up.

VSB release was not bad at all, I hope too that it is not crazy this year because f the VSB success. But it does come with the territory.

Probably one of the best releases I've ever attended, hopefully this doesn't get out-of-hand. I've already got my camping spot down the road for the weekend!

The 2012 r&d Release had about 25 people in line, I heard 2013 had about 2x as much. But there was no hype. Id expect several hundred with how insanely popular VSB ended up being.

SBL = Sour Blonde Lambic? And Sour Peach Lambic to go along with it?

Last year. I can see my car and I was there about 30 min before the doors opened. There were close to 150 people in line.

So lets assume 1000 people this year.

Pehaps, but this year it will be required that you have a WI ID to purchase the R&D. Deb and Dan are concerned about locals getting shut out.

I was hoping they would just make a random regular beer so I could go hang out at the brewery all weekend in peace.....so much for that I guess.

Whale hunters and their mules are not welcome. Let's not ruin a good thing because of selfishness and cronyism. I'm not just talking about FIB's either this is a message for everyone! don't be dicks, you can go multiple days just get your allotment and be happy.

While this plea will likely be ignored, it has to be said. There are more important things in life than getting more beer than your aloud to buy at a release. Shutting people out who got there on time and probably travelled many miles is a really shitty thing to do. Anyone who does it, I genuinley hope you are infested with thousands of fleas and you are unable to rid yourself of them until the itching drives you to the brink of sanity. /end rant

You're post is confusing to me. Who exactly are you telling to stay home? Because near the end you say "shutting people out who got there on time and traveled many miles." Whoever gets the beer obviously got there correctly on time, and could have also traveled many miles. Unless you're suggesting theres some way to cheat and ignore the line, then its as it always is, first come first serve. Expect a lot more people and longer lines this year, theres nothing you can do about that.

I'm expecting things to be crazier this year with lots of mules, line jumping, etc. and honestly kinda hope that it doesn't trade that well (despite being very tasty, like the pre-VSB R&Ds) and we can be back to a more reasonable crowd in 2015.

If they run it the same as last year line cutting won't be an issue, they handed out numbered tokens and you lined up according to that number. I enjoyed being able to share some beer prior to the sale while we waited for the doors to open. Does anyone know, are you allowed to grill in their parking lot?

it was cool last year. very mellow. i got there maybe 1 hour before the tickets went out (only because i woke up with the sun and had nothing else to do) and there were, maybe, 20 people waiting in their cars?
