Costa Rica is no joke. Watching them play the US you could sense some grittiness, though not the game they whined about playing in snow in Denver. Note that I didn't pick them to advance however.

Italy wins that group and it was never a doubt for me. Uruguay in a lot of trouble now couldn't afford to drop that match much less by 2 goals

LOL...we still got to wait how the group stages pan out...even if you got Spain you are still in it.

I hate to be 'that guy' but could you clarify? And for that matter, can we all post some explanation what comments mean when we all post them? I for one have very little chance of watching much of the action between my 9-5 and 3 year old when I get home...

Yeah, can't believe nobody took him--what an asshole!

Uruguay looks lost without Suarez. They better get him back or they will be out.

That is correct. I am working on a list and will put it up soon.

1 for 4 on yesterdays picks :astonished:. Should go 3-0 today: Ecuador, France and Argentina.

me too! this has been a sensational WC so far. I saw something on Twitter today that summed up how I felt about everything so far:

"The World Cup is as good as everyone pretends the Olympics are"

On another note, when are we going to get some 'small box side action' going on with some of these matches?

    You asked for it!

Brazil was picked by 100% of the people to win A1.
38 picked Croatia, 36 Mexico and 2 Cameroon to win A2.

72 picked Spain, 2 picked Chile, 2 picked Netherlands to win B1.
47 picked Netherlands, 25 Chile and 4 Spain to win B2.
    No one has Australia advancing.

59 picked Columbia, 13 Ivory Coast, 2 Japan and 2 Greece to win C1.
39 picked Ivory Coast, 16 Columbia, 12 Greece and 9 Japan to win C2
This is the only group where four teams were picked in both the 1 and the 2 slot.

35 picked Italy, 30 Uruguay, 11 England to win D1
30 picked Uruguay, 23 England, 23 Italy to win D2
No one has Costa Rica advancing.
This is by far the most closely picked group.

45 picked France, 29 Swiss, 2 Ecuador to win E1
    33 picked Swiss, 24 France, 18 Ecuador, 1 Honduras to win E2
Only one person has Honduras advancing.

74 picked Argentina, 2 Nigeria to win F1
    45 picked Bosnia, 25 Nigeria, 4 Iran, 2 Argentina to win F2

67 picked Germany, 7 Portugal, 2 USA to win G1
    50 picked Portugal, 19 USA, 6 Germany, 1 Ghana to win G2
Only one person has Ghana advancing.

70 picked Belgium, 5 Russia, 1 South Korea to win H1
54 picked Russia, 11 Algeria, 8 South Korea, 3 Belgium to win H2

These stats are 100% unofficial as I compiled them while watching Argentina/BH which just got a little more interesting late.

    Good Luck to all!

Wow, that's pretty awesome... frankly, though, I was only talking about the red card LIF
