I received my copy of American Sour Beers last week and it is amazing. It was written by Michael Tonsmeire (@OldSock ) and will be an invaluable tool in brewing sour beers in my home brewery. Is anyone else reading this book or plan on getting it soon?

Got it yesterday in the mail. Almost done with the Intro now. Need to take some of my sours out of the cellar and get them into the fridge to enjoy alongside the book.

Mine came in the mail last night; quick skim looks great. Planning on giving it a full read as soon as I finish all the "new dad" books I was supposed to read six months ago and finish getting all my publications from graduate school out that have been sitting on my former boss' desk for six months.

Got mine yesterday too. Haven't looked at more than the intro so far, but I'm anxious to dig in to it.

Should be a good read and resource.

I just ordered mine today. Will be in my mailbox Friday.

BTW, even with the 40% AHA discount it was still cheaper using Amazon assuming you have Prime.

Same, for some reason I thought it came out in July. Just ordered a copy and it will be here in a couple days. Really looking forward to this, Mike's blog has been such an invaluable resource, I expect the book to be fantastic.

Mine showed up this past weekend, read the 1st 4 chapters, so far very inspiring. My wife is going to be shocked to see all the carboys in the basement this time next year  Congrats and well done @OldSock

Thanks everyone! It ended up being 3.5 years of hard work, but hopefully the results are worth it. I learned plenty of new things during the process, but the trickiest part was documenting the sources of so many things that I'd remembered hearing/reading.

We'd originally set the released for April 7th, but with an extra tech editor and a few other delays we knew we couldn't make that. Brewers Publications wanted to push the release date back far enough that we wouldn't miss it again (which had happened to Water), thus July 7th. The publisher pushed really hard, called in a few favors, and got it printed in time for NHC last week. Gotta say it was weird going from holding my first copy to seeing it everywhere in the span of a week!

Got mine yesterday and started in on it during a bout of insomnia. It didn't put me to sleep!
I'm 3 chapters into it, and I'm already sure this is going to be a valuable resource for years to come.

Glad to hear! The first couple chapters are the driest I think. I wanted to write a book people will re-read and reference, not one of those you skim through when you get it and never open again!

I haven't read the book yet but if it is the 'equal' of the presentation that Michael gave at the NHC it will be an OUTSTANDING book!

    Cheers to Michael Tonsmiere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just started reading the blog, and have been really impressed and entertained by everything I've read so far. I've been interested in starting to brew some sour beers, but am still pretty new to brewing in general, so I plan on getting the book soon and slowly venturing out into the world of brewing sours.

Great information! I love the section on brewery specific souring techniques.

I know Chop & Brew was going to upload video of the presentation, but it's not up yet. Anyone know where the presentation video can be found now? Cheers
