    Ha. Not that I know of. But in his later years now he's telling me more and more about the parties they used to have at the old house. Like how they gutted an old washing machine to store a keg and ice in for a party. And ran the taps through the knob holes. My mom just shakes her head now.

    It is my favorite writer/creator ROBERT E. HOWARD who created Conan the Barbarian,Solomon Kane,Kull, and various others. He wrote those stories in the 1920's-1930's and was friends with H.P. Lovecraft as well. He was an avid Boxer and loved to drink beer. I believe in the picture he mentions it is Schlitz.

    It is one of those German symbols of brewing before modern technology.

    Wooden tun, a wood malt shovel, a wooden bucket on a pole to dip the wort out, and a mash fork. Some hops and malt.

    "Hopfen und malz, gott ehrhalts" Hops and malt, God provides/saves.

    Mine is a close-up of the face of a statue at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA. My grandfather was in D-Day.
