Any recommendations on a hoppy wheat ale that I can pick up in New England? I've had a lil sumpin sumpin and looking for others along that style but not as strong. 80 Acre Wheat from Boulevard seems like it might be a good choice to try out. Are their others out there? I love hops, but not a big fan of hefeweizens, but want to try more hoppy beers with the wheat background to see if it would work and possibly homebrew one in the future.

    Thanks!

Like you mentioned, 80 Acre Wheat is very good example. Fantastic beer.

Probably not available there, but Gumball Head is great.

If you're up for trading, find someone in SD and pick up Modern Times Fortunate Islands.

Sandy from Mother's brewing is outstanding, but you probably won't find it in New England.

While I absolute hate the style name ("White IPA") you might enjoy Chainbreaker from Deschutes. It's one of the very few hoppy wheat beers I enjoy.
One more that IS based on a German weissbier base but is really hoppy is Schneider Hopfenweisse. You can buy a single bottle of it for $3-4 so it won't break the bank to give it a shot. I DO enjoy weizens and I think it tastes closer to something Belgian than German.

Breckenridge probably isn't distributed there, but their Ophelia is awesome.

I came in to say this. In my opinion the hops fall just short of IPA territory, but it is still well balanced.

If you want I could send you a 4 pack of fortunate islands by modern times. That beer is so good and it is sessionable at 4.8% I believe.

So you've already had Little Sumpin Sumpin? I'm going to go with the posters who didn't read the thread at all and reccommend Little Sumpin Sumpin

lol I skimmed it but my iPhone limits my reading and thinking ability whoops. anyway I agree with Kramerwtmf and fortune islands really does blast you with bright hoppy aroma when you open the can although 10$ 4pack pints means I usually pick up pp ponto or swami instead 9.50/12.50 6 pack pint cans although not wheat beer so irrelevant I suppose.

Upstate Brewery I.P.W. is good, but only available in NY, so depending how close you are to the border, they would be worth checking out

Check out Henniker Brewing in New Hampshire's Whipples Wheat.

Blue Lobster's (Hampton, NH) Staklholm Syndrome used to be my favorite, but I haven't seen it on their tap list since they changed brewers...

I'm not a huge fan of hoppy wheat beers, but if you want to try a pretty great one, I also recommend the Schneider Hopfenweisse.

It has the body of a standard German hefeweizen and is aggressively hopped. It was the first truly hoppy beer I had because I started my beer adventure when I was studying abroad in SE Germany. Definitely give this one a shot!

Probably can't find it in New England, but still think this is the best name ever...

Yeah, wasnt really looking for the white ipa style. I feel those always have coriander and some kind of zest. Good suggestion though. I'll look for the schneider. Sounds delicious.
