Hey, I could definitely be wrong but the timing just seems very very fast. I'd have to think that they would want to retest multiple times over multiple time periods to make sure before they threw thousands of dollars down the drain. Matt responded to the first post hinting at an issue so I imagine he can address my concern as well.

No Praecocia to complete the set?

Praecocia wasn't infected. Just gross and overcarbonated.

I had it on tap at the Bruery TR and thought it was pretty good... more of a "tootsie roll" chocolate flavor.

This has the makings of a special pre-set "fail" flight in the tasting room.

It would make for a great bottle share theme.

Really glad I didn't re-up my RS membership this year. The infection issues rubbed me the wrong way last year and it looks like there's no sign of these issues stopping.

If they knew about it but still wanted to sell the bottles they could have placed a warning on it like the RDF FDR.

I'm not so sure. I applied Praecocia to an abrasion on my knee and a week later my leg fell off.

So now you're complaining because apparently The Bruery has acted TOO FAST when they were informed of a QC issue???

The beer world never ceases to amaze me....

That's not at all what I said or have issue with. My point was that I have a hard time believing they didn't know anything about a potential issue Monday when OP said he thought he had a bad bottle. Be amazed all you want but that's not what I said....................................

Oh, that's right. You just think your random conjectures about timeframes for knowledge of this issue and decision-making to act upon new information (like, perhaps, QC tests performed by The Bruery within the past 5 days or so) are more accurate than the explicit statements they made to the contrary. Carry on, then...

They're trying to make good on this. They've had QC problems, and this is another one. I don't see any reason to question the integrity of their actions and public statements. Full disclosure: I know some of the guys there very well, but if I had any reason to think they weren't being completely forthcoming about something like this, I wouldn't come to their defense like this-- I'd just stay out of it and let them deal with their own battles. I just think you're reading too negatively into this, for completely arbitrary and unnecessary reasons. The QC issues are real, obviously, and they really, really suck to have to deal with, for all involved. But their customer service is pretty much the best in the business, in my experience and opinion.

Look, I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I'm just stating a concern and admitting it may be unfounded. A representative from The Bruery is on here so he can clarify if he cares or ignore me if he doesn't.

How is the timing weird? If someone on a forum claims that their bottle is infected, the guys at the brewery drop everything they are doing and do some tests on it to verify the claim. I'm sure they did plenty of tests before, just like they did RdF and FdR, this one must have come up clean in those tests or they would have either not released it or released it with stipulations like they did those beer.

I'll be interested in some sour bottles of FdR. That should be some crazy shit.

Ok, I get it. I'm wrong. They've gotten really good at handling infections which makes sense given how many they've dealt with. I'm sorry for questioning the timing of things.

I'm actually hoping some souring improves that beer. I didn't find the current flavor profile appealing and the bottle of RDF I drank tonight had distinct flavors of souring...
