Two of my favorite beer glasses are oversize wine glasses.

Just bought a Night Shift Brewing Rastal Harmony wine glass. The couple times I have used it the beers aromas are super concentrated and intense. Well worth the price at the brewery.

    Looks like this.

Randy Mosher writes the same thing in his book Tasting Beer. (on page 82)

    What about a rosé glass?

I wouldn't try it at one of the rougher British boozers!

Interesting, I've done stouts in an oversized red wine glass before, and it's worked really well. I do agree, kind of top heavy for the less graceful drinker, however. My go to glasses are a Belgian style snifter or brandy snifter at this point.

I've never drunk beer in a wine glass but have, on occasions, drunk beer from a wine glass

I do it on ocassion. It's the same as a snifter.

I like to drink really high ABV beers from wine glasses sometimes, usually barleywines.

I do it quite often and would have no problem recommending it to anyone.

Last time I was in NY I hit up Torst (the Brooklyn Bar owned by Jeppe of Evil Twin) and every beer there is served in a wine glass.

If I am home I will usually choose a snifter if I am drinking a beer by myself. If I am sharing with company I often pull out a few wine glasses (nothing special just smaller ones I have picked up at local events). If I am out somewhere I say use the best thing available. Hell I have drank wine from a red solo cup and two weekends ago I was sitting in someone's lawn enjoying some gueuze out of a little plastic cup.

I like to swirl and sniff beers particularly my ales (e.g. saisons, DIPAs). Releases more of the nose. With simpler lagers like pils, helles, I'll use a shaker or pilsner glass.

Despite my semi-adult children's ill-informed opinions, I think my go to stemless red wine glass is the perfect glass for the stouts that I prefer.

I use these for almost everything. Cost Plus calls it a sangria glass. It's basically a big wine bulb with a stubby, fat stem.

I too have found an increase in the hop blast from a wine glass. Its shape is similar to my IPA goblet or snifter with more of a tulip shape. Funny how scientific it gets with different shaped glassware and how the beer tastes .

Didn't read all this but I think the owner of Brooklyn brewing or something said he thinks a red wine glass is the most universals glass and he prefers it or something...
