What does it take to land a bottle/what beers has it been trading for? Would Hill Farmstead Brother Soigne be an equivalent? 2:1 maybe?

Put up an ISO and find out. Personally, my SP beers are usually saved for personal consumption

You typically do not see too many people trading Side Project beers. Unless they are specifically looking for something. I have tried on numerous occasions to trade for some and have been unsuccessful every time. I eventually flew to StL, went to the brewery and got some.

If everyone did that with their best local non-distro brewery we wouldnt be beer advocates we'd be beer hoarders...

YEAH!!! who drinks beer anyway? that's not what it's made for, it's made to trade away.

I know what you mean, but I'm also not the guy buying full allocations and/or bringing mules. In regards to SP specifically, there have been situations where I could get several bottles but usually opt for 2 or 3 with the hopes of more locals scoring and to help my wallet. Not sure I make a difference though when I see folks walking out with cases.

And who is more of a "Beer Advocate?" The guy who buys a few bottles for personal consumption (and to maybe hook up a regular trading partner) or the guy who buys a full (or multiple) allocation just to try and trade **** people on the internet?

If its a small batch release (Under 1000) its the guy who buys a few and shares with his trading partners...in the end its your own beer to do what you want. But when I go to vermont i dont go with the intention of drinking all the beer myself. At least one growler and a few bottles are sent elsewhere.

figure I would add to this conversation: Would a SdF b2 pull a Bourbon County Prop?

I can see this going 2:1 for Prop.

Anyone who trades a Soigne or Sarrasin probably hasn't tasted them. Mine are going nowhere but into my and my friends' mouths.

Would sure love to, but I would have to give up something else, or else miss out on it if all that would get it is Soigne and Sarrasin.

I was able to get 2 bottles of Fermier during an IP trade in StL. Traded the Lavery IFA set for one and a Saison Bernice & Adjunct Professor for the other plus a BA Abraxas. My personal tastes put Fermier first, Bernice a close second and Sarrasin & Soigne just behind them.
Grabbed a 3rd bottle at Perennial.

That would be the trade ideally. Chicago gets the most distribution of bourbon county so if they manage to go buy one instead of trading a bunch for it they'd be much more likely to trade.

Trade completed 1:1 for prop in like 5 minutes after posting it. Something tells me it's more like Prop + for a SdF.
