What are your "best bang for the buck" summer beers? I'm looking for good sours (Berliner, Gose, wild, saison, Brett, etc.) that are refreshing and don't break the bank. I know about the big name players but I'm hoping to find a few small time locals that might be worth a try. And I'm more interested in beers that are a bargain based on $/oz than $/rarity.

    The Bruery's Hottenroth Berlinerweisse runs about $7-8 for a 750mL. It's < 4% ABV, but super refreshing.

AVBC The Kimme... Gose is a steal for about $10 a sixer. Breakside just released Passionfruit Sour Ale which is a Passionfruit fruited Berliner for <$6. Stocked up on this for the summer and apparently this will become a regular summer release in the future! Also, anything from @deGardebrewing is amazingly reasonably priced.

1809 Berliner Weisse is an excellent summer beer. Runs about $5-$7 depending on where you find it.

Rodenbach Grand Cru. 750ml for 9.99.

I think Festina Peche is well worth the price of admission for a domestic Berliner

Came here to say Rodenbach Grand Cru; I'm not surprised it's already mentioned. It is a fantastic beer at a fantastic price.

New Glarus Berliner Weisse (if it stays in production) and Enigma (if it returns to production), both at around $9.99/4-pack are a pretty good value!

Correction: $7-$8 in California, $15+ everywhere else.

Easily $20+ in most of the country. Never seen either for less than $22 myself.

Folks, he's asking for budget sours. That pretty much rules out anything and everything Bruery.

The only realistic options here are Cuvee Renee and various red/browns imported from Flanders. American-Flemish sours are always more expensive than the imported ones for some reason, and Cuvee Renee is the only Lindemans product free of acesulfame K. A few years ago I would have recommended some Jolly Pumpkin beers but their prices seem to creep up every eight months.

Prairie Artisan Ales Funky Gold Mosaic is terrific. It'll run you about $8.00 for 750mL. May be a little tricky to find depending on where you are in Texas, but if you are in the DFW metroplex or Austin you've got a good shot. Probably my favorite sour this year.

Sour Rye and Tart of Darkness can be had in the $16 range, as long as you know where to look. Still not budget, though. Hottenroth, on the other hand, even in NY can be found for $9.
