Drinking the last of my 4 Lunch's

Bottle date was 5/13. Its really lost a lot in the past month, doesn't taste anywhere near as good as the one I had on Memorial Day.

Lips of Faith Gratzer ale. I'm not impressed. I'm debating drain pouring this one. Worst beer I've had in a while.

Too lazy for a photo today but enjoying a Devil Dancer. This brew gets a bit of flak around here lately but I like it - it's intense and it gets better as it warms. A tad pricey but I'm not buying cases of it year round.

Earlier tonight, the pale ale at the Minocqua Brewing Company, accompanied by the fish and chips. Up until recently, I had come across a string of brew pubs that had diacetyl in their APAs. I am happy to report that it was not detected in the APA at Minocqua. It was really a delicious beer.

Stopped to get groceries on the way home, and look what I saw, New Glarus Berliner Weiss. I picked up 2 4-packs and am drinking one while watching the College "World" Series Championship game. It's got good sour, but maybe a little sweeter than in the past. There is a bit of pineapple, a bit of caramel, a bit of clove, and something I can't quite place that I associate with ham or maybe turkey. The complexity is deep. The beer is good.

Delicious APWA. Dank and grassy hops and balanced pale wheat malts. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, tangerine, floral, grass, pine, wheat, cracker, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; smooth, crisp, lightly sticky mouthfeel. Just really nice overall.

This has been a single sitting in the fridge for years. This was a great experience! This really opened up to reveal a ton of complexity as it reached room temp. This was all over the place but seemed to still come together. Bottled in 11/2010. Taste of big raisin, prune, fig, citrus zest, caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, brown bread, herbal, floral, grass, pine, and toast/grassy earthiness. Suprisingly still quite a bit of hop bitterness still present as well, but has a very nice balance with the malts. Really was a fan of it.

WOW. Huge raisin, plum, fig, cherry, pear, apple, candi sugar, toast, clove, black pepper, molasses, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Tons and tons of fruity complexity well balanced with darker candi like maltiness; plenty of spicy yeast to balance the malt sweetness. Extremely smooth and crisp. This reminds me a lot of La Trappe with the amount of fruity complexity. Which is my top Quad ever. Incredible! I seriously love this brewery but its never available around here! I had to buy this off the internet.
