I'm excited to hear rumors of it being here long enough to actually be placed upon a shelf, sigh.

I can wait to enjoy this nectar of the gods when it shows up in Casper. I find it one of THE most cellarable beers out there.

Had it at the pub last night during the release party. It's really tasty. It doesn't have an overly strong alcohol heat even at almost 11%. Starts out a bit sweeter than past years and has a nice chocolate note before dissolve into a strong cranberry flavor. It reminded me of a berry filled chocolate bar or a chocolate covered cherry. Finished smooth but left a little bit of a bitter aftertaste.

Goat cheese stuffed dates? Really? I'm sure it's great beer, but tone down the prententious snobbery a little.

I just happen to have a really good recipe for goat cheese stuffed dates with prosciutto, let me whip some up to pair with my Black Butte!

Seriously, these kinds of overly specific pairing suggestions are ridiculous. If you want to actually be helpful with pairing suggestions, be more broad.

I'm sure something as broad as pork cracklins would pair nicely with a porter like this...

I agree Welsh. The conflux #3 dopple was tremendous. I liked how the foray had such a strong hop aroma but didn't have an overhopped flavor

I would assume it should show up in PA because we've gotten Mirror Mirror and Not The Stoic recently and carry all of their year round beers. I would think Capones and similar places would get it. That's my best guess.

So it's okay to be into finely crafter beer, like, say, one that is brewed with pomegranate molasses and cocoa nibs, but it's "prententious (sic) snobbery" when one enjoys gourmet food? Hmm...
