I'll be at NEBCO this Wednesday for the first time and I'm not very familiar with the area. If any locals can hook me up with suggestions were I can grab some food and a few pints after the brewery I would appreciate it!

Delaney's is real close too, not as good as the other 2 mentioned.

it's only an exit or two up the Merritt pkwy from Woodbridge and it's easy in easy out compared to going into New Haven and finding parking, etc.

Could try Cask Republic down in New Haven. You could hit Pepes, Sallys, or Modern afterward as well.

Mikro, Cask Republic, or Prime 16 all have very good beer selections and really good food. The pork belly bahn mi at Mikro is ridiculous. Also, Modern has some amazing New Haven style pizza and they have NEBCO on tap.

All the places mentioned so far are great, but I'd lean toward Modern for someone unfamiliar with the area. New Haven Apizza is not to be missed (I just moved away this week, and I miss it already), and between the restaurant itself and Christopher Martin's next door you're guaranteed some fresh NEBCO deliciousness.

    Cheers!

I'd argue Delaney's as better than Mikro. Better food imo, at the very least.

I'm surprised there isn't more love for Delaney's. They have a massive tap list and are only a hop, skip, and a jump from NEBCo. Prime 16 and Cask Republic are also great suggestions. Both are in downtown New Haven and are roughly a one minute walk from each other.

Just realized that this thread was started earlier in the week. The OP made his first trip to NEBCo during the Weiss Trash Wednesday madness? Lol.

Really? I've never really had anything from Delaney's that I've been impressed with. Their food isn't bad, but it's basically just pretty good while I think Mikro has the best food out of any beer bar in CT. Different strokes.

Modern is the ONLY apizza in New Haven!

You're the second person I've heard that from in the past couple days. Maybe I'll give it another shot. I've had food there a few times and nothing really blew me away. Bad luck maybe.

So, I noticed the old NEBCO "what's on tap" thread got shut down last week. Anybody know what's on tap this week? I'm planning my first visit there this Monday. Any other advice would also be much appreciated.
(Sorry to thread-jack, but seemed like this was a reasonable place to ask.)

They aren't open on Mondays. The next day that they'll be open is Wednesday (3-7). I'm not sure what they'll have on tap. This week was super busy with the WTC can release and when they last closed on Thursday they only had Sea Hag remaining. There is a good chance that they'll have more Gandhi ready for next week but I'm not sure what else will be on. Maybe the Locust Reign will be ready this week (fingers crossed).

Oh, crap. I definitely thought I saw near the beginning of that thread that their days of operation included Monday. And their website's pretty useless. Do you know their current days/hours of operation offhand?

The website is completely useless. They admit that. They do a decent job of keeping their facebook page updated, though.

Anyway, their current hours are Wed-Fri 3:00-7:00 and Sat 11:00-4:00.

Pork Belly Bahn Mi at Mikro is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had.

Coriolis at Mikro today!!!!! Also Galaxy and the very interesting Firefly Hollow Cone Flakes DIPA. Whether or not you like the food, it's worth a trip to Hamden today.
