I'm not really sure if I have a "go-to" stout, but I'd probably have to say its Founders a Breakfast Stout. I also love Stockyard Oatmeal Stout, price is awesome too.

I've never understood why Irish Dry Stouts don't get more love here. They can be rich and rewarding, while remaining semi-sessionable at an average of around 5-6% ABV.

I'm not a huge stout drinker, but Gritty McDuff's Black Fly Stout is my go to when I need a roasty dose.
Other than that....Guinness Foreign Extra, when I can find it.

Obsidian Stout or Howe Sound Pothole Filler (You should be able to find it in WA/OR/CA?) As good as it gets for a $10 1L swingtop imperial porter.

Siberian Night and BCS are both around $8 a four pack........I also really like Philadelphia brewing Shackamaxamum. Great with a year or two and cheap for a wood aged beer.
huge vanilla note from the last one I opened at about 2 years

    Enjoy

Seeing some of the favorites here, it seem like some others might like Wolaver's Oatmeal Stout as much as me.

i wouldn't say i have a "go to" stout, but Storm King is the one i buy the most often, if we are talking "plain" stouts. if we are talking about any beer with the word stout in the title then it is definitely samuel smiths oatmeal stout

Stone Imperial Russian Stout is a really good one and very available.

When I see it, which is rare, I thoroughly enjoy Ten-Fidy as well.

If you live in mass and you're not buying ipswich oatmeal stout on the regular you are doing it wrong.

Also: Old Raspy, Baxter phantom punch, wollavers oatmeal, and most definitely FBS.

For me, "go-to" means 4/6-pack, doesn't really mean bomber. So I would go with Deschutes, Lagunitas, Elysian, Sierra Nevada, Old Rasputin, etc. That means, any porter/stout that distributes year round to Seattle, is relatively great, reasonably priced, and easy to locate at a bottle or grocery store.

If I am going with hard to find Stouts that are super duper awesome, then I would go with Founder's CBS, De Struise Messy, or some really nice BA one-off at a stout festival.
