I definitely hope they aren't on the same day again. Being a volunteer luckily keeps me in check, but even with that I don't know about 2 beer fests in a single day. Especially when many of the RBT items are hefty enough to age for long periods of time.

We now have 10 commitments from brewers for the event: Big Sky Brewing, Boston Beer, Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales, Nebraska Brewing, Perennial Artisan Ales, Rogue Ales, Sierra Nevada Brewing, Thirsty Dog Brewing, Tröegs Brewing and Wicked Weed Brewing. Several others have told us they are checking their cellars for "worthy" beers before they confirm they will be attending. We will update the list regularly.

Denver Rare Beer Tasting VI VIP tickets will be gone soon. http://www.etix.com/ticket/online/venueSearch.jsp?venue_id=10492

Unfortunately, no word. Last year, they literally set it up 6 weeks in advance. Maybe they'll do better this year, but this is still probably too far in advance.

I'm buying my Rare Beer tickets today, can't wait on WTF. I'll attend both if I have too!

Out of curiosity @Lyke2Drink - have the volunteer e-mails gone out yet? I've been on the crew for the last 3 years.

Not yet. We will reach out in July to our previous volunteers and then see how many slots we will have left to fill.

If it weren't amounting to such a relaxing and beautiful summer, I'd be more anxious for October to arrive. This is definitely an event I look forward to, but no need to rush it; I'll be enjoying every beer drinking minute from now until October 3rd!

Partial Brewery List Released for Denver Rare Beer Tasting VI
Tickets Now on Sale for Oct. 3 Pints for Prostates Awareness Event

DENVER, CO – A partial list of 32 brewers that have committed to pour beer at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting VI has been released by Pints for Prostates.

The prostate cancer awareness event will be held on Oct. 3 in Colorado during the same weekend as the Great American Beer Festival. The Denver Rare Beer Tasting VI features the chance to sample rare, exotic and vintage beers from more than 40 of America’s top craft breweries and the opportunity to meet the men and women who made them.

“We are excited by the support of a terrific list of breweries that are reaching deep into their beer cellars for prized brews to pour at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting VI,” said Rick Lyke, founder of Pints for Prostates. “The craft beer community is stepping up to help us reach men through the universal language of beer.”

Brewers who have already committed to beer at the event include:
    • Alaskan Brewing, Juneau, Alaska
    • Allagash Brewing, Portland, Maine

Breweries bring some of their rarest brews to the event. The beer list for the Denver Rare Beer Tasting VI will be released prior to the event. A list of beers poured during the first five years is available on the Pints for Prostates website.

Tickets for the event are on sale now. A very limited number of $150 VIP tickets allowing early entry to the event at Noon remain. General admission tickets are $110 each for the 1-4 p.m. event. Each attendee receives a commemorative tasting glass, t-shirt, program and pen. A buffet lunch is included in the ticket price and guests will have the chance to bid in an exciting silent auction that includes a variety of unique beer experiences and collectibles. The first five Denver Rare Beer Tastings sold out weeks in advance. The event will be held this year on two floors of the McNichols Civic Center Building at 144 W. Colfax Ave.

All ticket holders to this year’s Denver Rare Beer Tasting will be entered into a drawing for a 9-night BeerTrips.com organized tour for two of Belgium, the Czech Republic and Germany. VIP ticket holders will receive three raffle tickets and general admission ticket holders will receive one ticket. Anyone wearing a Pints for Prostates t-shirt or hat to the event will receive another free entry for the drawing. Additional tickets will be available for a donation. The winner will be drawn during the event from tickets collected exclusively at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting. The winner and a guest will travel to Brussels, Prague, Bamberg and Cologne from Oct. 8-18, 2015. The trip includes roundtrip airfare from the continental U.S., 9 nights hotel, ground transportation, brewery tours, pub crawls, guided city tours, 9 breakfasts, 4 beer lunches and 4 beer dinners.

“The Denver Rare Beer Tasting is an annual celebration of beer passion. Beer fans get to taste a collection of beers that most people never have the chance to enjoy, while rubbing elbows with the talented brewers,” said Lyke. “It is a fun afternoon and a great atmosphere, with a serious mission: raising awareness about prostate cancer.”

Pints for Prostates is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity and all net proceeds from Denver Rare Beer Tasting go towards the group’s awareness mission and help to fund the education and support programs of the Us TOO International Prostate Cancer Education and Support Network, and free prostates cancer screening programs provided by the Prostate Conditions Education Council.

Sponsorship packages are available for companies that wish to support and take part in the event.

Were there always separate VIP tickets or is this the first year they're offering them?

My only concern with the GA tickets is the availability of certain beers after the VIP hour. When I attended this festival (several years ago, admittedly), several beers kicked relatively early. I'd say by the end of the event I attended, about 75% of the beers were tapped out. It's the nature of the beast (it IS a "rare beer" event), but I'd be interested in hearing the impact of the VIP hour on the availability of the high-demand beers. It would suck to pay $110 for a GA ticket, get in, only to find that the beers you want to try are tapped out.

I've gone the last couple years and this is the first year there has been VIP tickets. Guess there could have been some people let in early but there wasn't a place for them to buy tickets.

There hasn't been VIP tix in the past. I have been 3 times and haven't noticed anything kicking in the first 2 hours, but I could have overlooked something. Things get a bit fuzzy....
