I suggest you grab some Far Out IPA.

    It was pretty damn tasty.

    Just a friendly suggestion.

    Bye Bye

I mean, Tone-Loc had Wild Thing and Funky Cold Medina. Two great songs that I'll listen to and get down with. But man, I ain't popping in his entire album cause the rest of the songs are bad. Same thing with Bootlegger's. They have pretty unmemorable beer all around and they rode that Knuckle Sandwich train till it fell off the tracks with inconsistent batches.

They really just need to step up their game considering the other great breweries that are in spitting distant in that area that I'd rather go drink from.

I like the lupulin thrill, dry hopped golden chaos, galaxian barleywine and knuckle sandwich.

Tropical Thunder should be bottled. My personal favorite of theirs.

Tropical Thunder is great, I've had another good one or two... Knuckle is probably only great to people who like Dogfish Head 90 minute.

Bootleggers continues to fall behind the newer local breweries.

Agreee. But have you tasted Far Out this year?

    It was straight pineapple.

I am by no means a Bootlegger's fan by I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. I thought Knuckle Sandwich has too much malt taste. All their other beers are meh to me.

Far Out is good. Bootleggers just needs to completely revamp their image. They have some good beers, but the marketing aspect just seems to be off in terms of their good beer releases (Only hyped release is Knuckle, and it's not very good - especially compared to new local IPAs). Change the six pack beers. Establish a brewing release schedule. Pull a bunch of the crap beer off the lineup. Revamp the website.

I'd love to like Bootleggers, but they need to stop operating like it is still their second or third year.

...and their tap room is a glorified frat house.

Totally man. Far Out is easily my favorite Bootlegger's beer.

Knuckle is so hit and miss I rarely even get it anymore. It has gotten so bad with Knuckle that I think they must have changed the recipe ... it definitely used to be awesome. I hope they don't mess up Far Out.

The best beer by far they ever released was batch 1 Imperial Black Phoenix. I believe they have remade it since it doesn't seem to be retired but with silent releases I never make it down there when bottles are available :slight_frown:

I've heard they are working on those things from a very reliable source.

I rarely go there anymore if I am in the area. I am not sure why they did away with tasters since they moved from the old location.

They actually brought back tasters, along with a build your own flight system.

On Bootlegger's in general, I've visited a few times and have never got the frat party vibe, but that might be due to the times of day I've been there. I think that they have a fair number of good beers, but the best ones I've had have been ones that they don't bottle or make large amounts of yet (some one-off ipas and Belgian styles served at the taproom). I think the place is worth visiting as long as the tap list is a decent size (it's not always so).

I feel like this discussion is brought up every few months regarding Bootlegger's. It's like people want to love them but are consistently let down. I've been visiting them off and on since they opened their original location. I've never been blown away by their beer (except for a few one offs...that Kombucha lambic), but I've always thought they made decent beer. They make no bones about what they do. It'll be interesting if, as iluvBA4life mentioned, they address some of the issues. I guess we'll have to wait and see

Also their giant size Jenga game. Buddies and I played for quite some time after a trip to Bruery which led to Bootleggers. Stupid wind....ruined our best game.

    Far Out is great.

I've never been too keen on their image but they do make a few great beers. I'm curious if their tasting room employees have gotten better. I know they used to get a lot of feedback (rightly so) about rude service there. on Yelp there are many, many complaints about it. One would think the owners would read those reviews and make changes but they never seem to

My theory is that almost everyone working there is a family relative or something
