You'll give up better tasting year-round shelf beer from the breweries you listed, than what you'll get in return from the DL.

    Besides death and destruction?

It'll take something like Hunahpu's, Darkness, or other semi-limited release-only type beers 1:1. Otherwise you could probably do 3-4 BCBCS, BCBBW, KBS, Black Note, etc for a Dark Lord. If you're only offering shelf beers, expect to go well over $4$ if you find anyone interested in trading a Dark Lord for shelf beers.

You definitely hide it well though (cough... not... cough)... I have started enjoying seeing you pop up on every DL FT/ISO or info request here. Like it or not though there are a ton of people out there who really like the stuff and it does definitley trade 1:1 with Huna, Darkness, JBM, Vietnamese, etc... it's something I only needed to drink once but I am glad I did get to decide for myself which side of the fence I was on.

hey if people want to give away their larger-format, high-quality beer that exists in drastically lesser amounts and costs more, who am I to stop them

clarification though, sure I'll post here, but I don't comment on the FT/ISO stuff

FWIW I traded a 2 6pks of Gose for a Dark Lord and a Black Note...wish I could have those 2 6ers back. I'd never trade for a DL again.

How long before people stop trading for this beer? I've actually never had one but only read the negative reviews and thoughts that go with it. Are there enough new beer drinkers that will keep this beer forever wanted?

I guess I'm in the minority but I did enjoy the DL 14 I consumed

I don't think people will stop trading for it. I think everyone should get a chance at trying it. It was definitely not a beer I will be trying to drink again at any point but it is... um... unique? and as long as the value isn't out of control - which I don't think it is - why not? There are a lot of positive reviews on it... just not so much in the forums. People usually only chime in to bash it (Jlabs aside). Some day you should try it... just to know for yourself. Good or terrible, I think the value/taste/quality/whatever of this beer has to be one of if not the most debated I've ever seen and for me that was enough to have to crack one of my bottles... one was definitely all it took though.
