    Hey all you Michiganites!

My wife and I are heading to Grand Rapids at the end of the month. We're hitting Founders for sure but are looking for other suggestions from those who have the lay of the land. Best bottle shops? Best restaurants with quality taps? Best craft bars? Any other local breweries we should know about?

    Looking forward to your suggestions.

    Thanks Brewthers!

    Let's see...

Bottle shops: Siciliano's is a must. Back-up would be International Beverage.

Good restaurants with good taps: The Green Well, The Winchester, Donkey's, The Derby Station, Electric Cheetah. All very different, so take your pick.

Craft bars: Hopcat for sure, Meanwhile as well

Breweries: Brewery Vivant, GRBC, Perrin in that order. Harmony if you're craving good pizza.

Everyone has to make a stop at Founders. But I agree with everything that Sparty1224 says.

Vivant and Perrin for sure. Vivant is a cool place and Perrin is quickly becoming one of my Michigan favorites.

Perrin is definitely becoming a must stop when in GR, IMO. Also, HopCat is a must visit.

Perfect summary except I would move Perrin to #1 on the list to visit after Founders

My buddy is heading to Grand Rapids in two weeks also. Does Perrin bottle beer? if so which ones? and as an IPA fan what would you reccomend.

Perrin does not bottle beer yet, supposedly in the works. The Double IPA (IIPA) is great but their standard (Perrin IPA) is where it's at. You won't go wrong with Hopwood either

Mitten also has good beer and pretty good pizza.

They don't bottle their beer yet but you can get a howler or growler fill. I can't really help you with your question about IPAs. I haven't tried them. I can't go there without getting the Malted Milk Ball Porter.

As others have said, hit up Perrin and Vivant. They are two of my favorites. Perrin's malted milk ball porter is crack in a glass, and their Wood series of beers are all great too. And Vivant... well, just everything. The beer, the food... all awesome.

They actually have 750's of Quadwood out now. I have a couple of them. $13/bottle I believe, and money well spent in my opinion. Cheaper than their howlers and growlers.

Perrin is great! Best grapefruit IPA I've had, planning to be in the Grand Rapids area the weekend after next and drinking there again.

IMO when coming to G.R. you should make stop a Greenbush in Sawyer Mi. A great Brewery good food with some of the best beers in the state. also the Mitten is another small brewer worth visiting. It is in an old fire house where they have box seats from the old Tiger Stadium in their entrance AKA waiting room. Like Greenbush they can be so busy it is standing room only. There wood fire is one of the best in the city. Perrin is definitely a must do as previously mentioned.

Also on the way is The Livery in Benton Harbor. Nice, small place. Outdoor seating. Great beer. Only been there once and it wasn't too crowded, but they have a nice variety on tap.
