    So here is the deal,

I am turning 30 in a couple weeks and my wife has graciously decided a big o San Diego Beerathon is in order to celebrate. I am only going for 3 days, and I know i can visit all the breweries, but I was just curious from my fellow beer advocates if there were any places that I just have to visit. Any advice is welcome, give me your top picks and help me plan it out...........THANKS

Seriously? My best advice would be to not be so goddamn lazy. You don't even have to use the search feature, there's a comprehensive thread on the first page of the Pacific forum.

Unlike all the others I will try to not be a dk. Biggest complaint I ever see on Forums is a multiple topic that has already been discussed question. San Diego is ever changing and a search dosent always work so I'll give you my list 1 through 6 of places you should go.

    1.Stone
    2. Alpine
    3. Societe
    4. Ballast point little Italy
    5. Alesmith
    6. Blah (automatic brewing)

There's a post on the front page that was created just over a week ago and is highly comprehensive. Seriously this is just a case of massive laziness on OPs part. He's lucky we didn't feed him shitty recommdendations instead of just lambasting his lack of effort.

I love these questions. I also find it funny that anyone thinks that they can visit more than 3-4 breweries in a day drinking IPA's (unless they are having one 4 oz. sample at each).

Even then, are you going to have one 4 oz. taster and then bounce to the next brewery? Too many great options at each to try just one if you're going with tasters.

Yet five of your six recommendations have been open for no less than two years, and the sixth is just a new location of an older brewery. Doesn't seem like a new thread is warranted based on the "ever changing" landscape, does it?

The BA search actually works pretty effectively, not to mention the fact that there's a comprehensive thread right on the front page. I can appreciate that you're being helpful, but if someone doesn't even take five minutes to do some basic legwork, why should anyone take the time to help them?

Like Skunkpuddle said but I would put Alpine at the top and Societe next. Do one whole day in the Vista area which you finish up at Stone Escondido. Day two at ABC, Societe, Mike Hess, O'Briens Pub, etc.
you get my point. Otherwise search for the previous post on San Diego go to places.

is wesbray, creator of 10 different san diego threads, trolling someone who made one right now?

Sure am  That was also before there was a "Visiting San Diego" thread at the top of the page. And with a couple of exceptions, mine were new questions. Thanks for reminding everyone of that though.

Don't think it will come to much. @pinkgrenade, if I annoyed you with my multiple threads then I sincerely apologize. Just had a lot of questions to ask and no single-thread in which to ask questions without it going vastly off-topic.

Yeah sadly it won't. I mean I would find it funny for like 20seconds, but after that...over it.

i did it july 4th weekend, went to 4 breweries. Use Uber! From our rental house in La Jolla, to Societe ---> Ballast point ---> intergalatic ---> alesmith then back. Was roughly $65-70 split between 4 people. Good bye DUI, hello fun time!
