Prairie Bomb! Pricing

    Here in Iowa, Prairie Bomb! was $11.99/bottle for a 12oz. That would put it just under $50 for a 4 pack?! How is this even possible? 4 packs of BCBS are something like $25-30 correct? It's not even barrel aged! A 6 pack would be over $70.

    I of course bought it anyway since i haven't had. Thought it was really good but definitely not worth $12 a pop.

    Are prices this high elsewhere??

    No. Not worth $12 at all. I don't think that price is normal for most markets that get it. As a matter of fact, the first shipment of Bomb we got in Iowa last year was $5.99/bottle. The last batch we got (few months ago) was $8.99/bottle. This latest batch, for some reason, is now $11.99/bottle. I don't get the huge jumps in pricing either. I passed on it at $11.99 this time. $6 a bottle is about the most I'd pay.

    7.99 in Kentucky. I haven't heard of it being that high, but my experience with this one is minimal.

    It's about 8 bucks in Texas, typically in the 6.99-8.99 range depending on the store. A perfectly reasonable price for what it is, I think.

    I would say $5.99-$7.99 per 12oz. I've had it a few times from trades but if I see it in Cali for $11.99 per bottle phuck no I wouldn't buy it. I love that beer but we have to stand up to the asshole bastards that are jacking up the price just to make huge profits!! Phuck them!!!

    No joke. Since I hadn't had it before I grabbed it and did like it but won't be buying again unless it came way down. Agree with BottleCaps $6 prob about the most I'd pay. $12 is ridic. I of course bought 2 bottles being a beer idiot. Lol

    Kid you not.. saw it in PA store for 23$ a bottle.. No f'ing way I was dropping that on it.. It is a 9 dollar bottle in general..

    $11.99 is total beer ****. I've seen it anywhere from $5.49 to $7.99 here in okieland and even that feels like a prostate exam.

    I look at it this way: $11.99 per 12 oz bottle is $1/ounce... that's a $22/bomber. Is it on the high end for non-barrel/wood aged beers? Sure.. but it is all hyped up right now - it is, but at least it puts it into perspective... :slight_smile: I know a ton of people who'll throw $20-$25 at a bomber without blinking an eye.. Personally, I'm not one of them and top out at around 0.50-$.65/ounce for packaged beer ($11-$15/bomber or $6-$8 per 12 oz) ..

    Interesting to get others perspectives on pricing around the country, though.

    One store i got it at had KBS for $5.99/bottle. I got another 4 pack for $21.99 at another store. So that puts Bomb almost double the price of KBS

    The only place i've seen in South Florida for Bomb and Bible Belt sell it at $17 a bottle...

    It's anywhere from 6.99-8.99 in DFW, depending on where you go. I stopped buying it , as it's just too damn high. Shelves were stocked FULL with it in Arkansas when I was last there...it and Bible Belt. 32.99-37.99 4 packs.

    Used to always buy it, but as I start to see it on more and more shelves, I've stopped because the price is outrageous. As OP said, it'd not even barrel aged. Hell, it's not even scarce.
