Good catch. The pictures of the bottle in their original release show a 750, and it says 750 there as well, so yes, the menu saying 500 seems to be a typo.

Does anyone think this will be the 2nd coming of La Vie En Rose? Basically a watered down version of a better beer?

First, I personally dont think La Vie was a watered down anything. Too many people got caught up in comparing it to Atrial, when the only thing they have in common is the berries. I thought La Vie was excellent, and one of my favorite JK beers this year.

Having already had Detritivore a few times, I'd say the same thing about this beer. While they share the cherries, they are 2 completely different beers. The fruit is more tart, and the beer is less jammy and more funky. I look forward to stockpiling many bottles to enjoy throughout the year.

Totally. Subtleties are lost on so many people and I don't understand why anyone would even think to try and call them the same beer.

I would have traded you in person all my Vie En Roses and saved some money on shipping, that beer sucked. Ill do the same with D, if it is follows suite. What does half an Atrial and half a bottled water get you, oh yea La Vie En Rose.

dude you are way off on that. La vein rose is exactly what it suppose to be. Just because in your mind you were excpecting an atrial clone or something similar to atrial that is on you brotha! La vein rose is a very nice lower alcohol beer that has soured up a bit more since release and is a very pleasant sessionable summer beer.

I actually preferred the La Vie to the Atrial because it was more tart. I'd love more bottles of it. I hope Detritivore is more of the same.

Untappd has a pic of the glass. Sorry about not posting it. Looks like the FnS glass but with the name of the beer in black and the bugs crawling over the glass.

La Vie was damn near perfect and bested Rose de Gambrinus. For those who thought La Vie was a watered down fruit beer, you will probably like Detritivore. It's not as delicate.

Wow, this must be the La Vie En Rose fan club. Most everyone else I had this silly conversation with thought like I did. Guys its ok to not love every beer JK produces, you wont get banned from the brewery. If you like week ass fruity sours with a delicate balance good for you. On the bright side, I have on good word from a friend at the brewery the Det. is awesome. If anyone needs bottles let me know Ill go there tomorrow or Sunday. Cheers boys.

When I first tasted La Vie, and I wasn't impressed because I was thinking Atrial. But then I had another bottle, and another. As I began to think of it on its own, it has become one of my favorites, and the same for many others Ive talked to. The appeal has been broad too. One of my most looked-forward too beers from JK, and I've gotten every release this year.

Really looking forward to Det, and hope it's a little similar to La Vie... I'll find out soon!

Edit: Wanted to add, it's been a fantastic year for drinking JK...

Just got back from the brewery. Now I'll admit, I don't like every release (puts my flame suit on), but I try them. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Bought my limit, plus the wife's. I could drink this every day and twice on Sunday. Kudos jester king. Great asset to our fantastic city.

If I didn't like a beer, I'd tell ya. I love La Vie. And if you want to buy Detritivore and trade it to me, I'll take all you can get. Srs
