I saw this beer called Lionshead Deluxe Pilsner Beer and I was like cool, a craft pilsner for 8 bucks. I drank it and it was not a craft pilsner it was pretty much a AAL. So yeah I didnt do my research beforehead but to me its false advertising.

If only it was in a bottle, you could have had these puzzles to think about:

That was the only store Ive been to that had Lionshead. I wasnt aware of them or what they were because I had never seen them before. They are sorta ilike Yuengling it seems but Yuengling gets all the hype and is in every store here.

In what sense was it not a craft? Craft brewers can brew crappy light lagers if they want. Deluxe denotes nothing, it's just a shiny attractive word. I can't figure out what the lie here is.

He drank it thinking it was a Pilsner but thought it was AAL after drinking?

I was expecting something like a Nobel Pils from Sam Adams and instead I got something that was like Yuengling Lager. Again shame on me for thinking that. I should have known better. You see "Deluxe Pilsner" on the can and you dont think right away its just a AAL. Again my bad.

eh, yeah, that's a distinction that many - even in the industry - choose to ignore.

I don't think I'd pay $8 for a pilsner unless it's overpricing at a Concert with no other options...and I love pilsners. Funny how I don't blink at paying that for an imperial stout.

Here's a question for you - I first consulted the styles guide and didn't get an answer - are traditional pilseners allowed to be brewed with adjuncts? Reinheigtsgebot (sp?) forbid it?

That isn't false. The can itself might be the most refreshing can, but they never said the beer was the most refreshing.

I've eaten a lot of cans in my day, this one cut the inside of my mouth just as much if not more than the others.

But no other can tells you when its cold enough to eat now, does it?

What should the can have said instead?

Lager. You know Narragansett does a AAL and a craft Pilsner. It would be like taking the Bohemien Pilsner label and sticking it on the Lager can.
