Getting my house tented... is my beer safe? Exterminator says its safe as long as the bottles are "factory" sealed. I have too many bottles to transport I'm going to leave them home. Thoughts anyone? More concerned about the corked bottles too.

No idea, but I'd take measures, just to be safe. I would try to get them out of there if you have time... that's just me being extra-prepared though. Sorry if you came here looking to be reassured

I don't know anything about the process, but I'd guess anything with a properly installed bottlecap should be ok. A bottle sealed with a cork might be a different story. Some wineries are actually ditching corks in favor of bottlecaps because it's just harder to get a bottle "corked" that's been properly sealed with a bottlecap.

Ziplock bag them if you're too worried about them.

Either remove them or ziplock, especially the corked ones, don't just leave them there with all the chemicals.

i second the garbage bags. box em and bag em and they should be ok. if not theres a forum here you can trade them all away for non bug bombed beers.

edit: just joking. don't trade bad beer.

Simple physics (sheesh) pressure inside the bottle exceeds outside pressure.

Best advice if you can't remove them.

...unless the exterminator crew consists of Barney Gumble, Norm Peterson, and Charlie Sheen. Gumble could easily belch through the bag revealing the honeypot of free beers

I would take them out. At least you know that they are safe once they are removed. You will always wonder if you leave them.

Put them in a wine box 12 at a time. Wrap each box in a trash bag and twist the top and tape. You're golden
