I poured out my glass of te new provenance orange grapefruit. It was really minerally and had almost a chlorine hint to it. I tried the lemon lime version it was okay. not my cup of tea. The new cherry one is pretty faint on the cherry flavors. The cherry became a little more pronounced when it warmed up.

Think you are going to enjoy the Det, Josh. The JK crew did a really nice job with it! Like you, LVR didn't do much for me either. Happy to say a different story here. - Cheers

I don't like every Jester King release either but honestly, an overwhelming majority of AWAs (basically newer American sours in general) are too acidic and straight sour, very one dimensional and harsh with limited to no true funk. Just my thoughts on why I like stuff like La Vie as well as Detritivore. And of course I appreciate stuff like Gilgamesh or Upland Kiwi which is absurdly tart yet still complex.

Without having looked at our inventory yet, I think we'll have Detritivore and Atrial Rubicite bottles available, but no Nocturn Chrysalis.

My brother and I thought la vie was decent on tap but not as good as atrial. For a couple bucks less and a bigger bottle I was happy to purchase a bottle of la vie(1st batch). I was pretty disappointed in how the bottle tasted vs on tap. My brother chimed in with the same opinion so I'm pretty sure the batch 1 of la vie bottles was rather unimpressive.

Detritivore was much better out of the bottle.

I wasn't huge on La Vie en Rose but I LOVED Detritivore. Went to JK Friday to try it and get some bottles. Ended up loving it so much that I went back today (Sunday) to drink/buy more. The glassware is pretty cool too (bought 4). If Jester King keeps putting out beers at this rate I'm going to be flat broke soon….

I wasn't a big fan of La Vie at JK, but I had two bottles in the last few months and it has gotten much better with some aging. I know I drank one of them with @PatrickInAustinTx and @SupplicationAD , the other one was probably with @ext1rpate and/or @mgr78704 .
FWIW, a bunch of AWAs/farmhouse ales I've had are better from bottle than draught.

Detritivore has come out of the gate with a stronger flavor profile (than La Vie) that's not intense (like a fruited sour), and is damn drinkable. I'm excited to see how it evolves in the next few months. I'll either save my bottle for some family visiting in October or for @Compton25 to get his chem suit ass back in March.

Batch 1 la vie was different if I recall correctly. I still have a bottle. I know batch 2 was amazing. I love la vie and can't wait for more. With that said, detritivore is better. It's so drinkable it scary. My wife was giving me looks as I was guzzling it down earlier just rambling about how easy it was to drink.

For what it's worth I was there yesterday at 3 and they had already been out of nocturn since the day before. They also said that they have sold at least half of detritivore and expect it to sell out next weekend. They mentioned having two pallets of atrial as well which should at least last through next weekend if not the next.

Was lucky enough to find @jesterkingbeer Provenance today at a store here in DFW...plus, it was reasonably priced ($13). Any word as to what else might get distributed going forward?

Provenance was $12 at growlers on waugh, and $12.99 at d&q. So happy to be able to pick up this beer locally.
