Oxygen can get into a bottle through the cap seal as the partial pressure of the O2 in the atmosphere is higher than the partial pressure of the O2 in the headspace, even though the total pressure in the headspace is higher than atmospheric pressure.

I would say they are safe, but rinse them off before drinking them. Just treat them like fruit/veggies that may have pesticide on them.

I wouldn't worry about it, should be fine.

Common sense also allows one to recogninze the difference bewtween a typographical error and a mispelled word.

We're talking poison gas. Designed to touch the surface of every nook and cranny. And then penetrate any porous material. I think the old risk/reward evaluation should be applied.

Ziplocks are permeable to oxygen so that might not do much.

OP: It's not an ideal situation but I bet they will be fine.

I don't think I would not like the idea of toxic bug spray getting on my bottles and my bottlecaps. I would put it somewhere. Just to for peace of mind.

Not one who is much of a science buff, but guessing poison on corks might be absorbed somewhat. Cover the corks and wash off everything afterwards. Then again, I have paranoid tendencies.

OP, do you really have that much beer that you can't move it out to some other location for one week? If I were in your shoes, I would not feel comfortable having them in there - what did they tell you about the food in your fridge?

Oxygen is a very very very tiny molecule, two atoms, compared to the complex hydrocarbon in bug spray. bug spray will not get through plastic or the cap seal (the hint is the giant tent over the house)
(doesn't anybody have to take chemistry in High school anymore?)

I do have about 140 bottles and nowhere to store them. The food in the fridge needs to be removed unless its in a factory sealed jar or bottle. I appreciate everyones concern but I do not any friends or family that can store that much beer in there space...

Chuck a condom on each bottle (non-lubricated, duh). Better safe than sorry.

For bombers and 750s, get magnums. I have a bunch if you need them.

This whole post is a joke. Especially the last bit.

What about the adhesion property of some liquids? I would rather not pour beer from a bottle with a layer of toxins around the mouth.

I vote box and trash bag. That is what I would do.

Invite kids from the local middle school over and teach them about safe sex by having them put condoms over the neck of each of your bottles. Put two condoms on bottles that were trade extras if you're not sure where they have been.
