8 Brett strains going. Stepped them up to full pints a week ago. Should be ready to brew with this weekend. 15 gallons of Belgian Blonde headed into a 14 gallon wine barrel after primary.
I have been looking for a wine barrel that size with no luck. Any leads or tips you could share would be game changing for me.
I got mine from a buddy at my club who got it from a friend's dad who is a home vintner who wasn't going to use it anymore. Seems like that is a good lead to follow. Find some home wine makers who use barrels and are going to get rid of them after extracting the oak character. Maybe ask your LHBS if they know of anyone making wine at home that buys the new oak barrels regularly. They would need to buy new ones when they are done with the old ones.
