Charleston?

I'm from Franklin County, VA...not sure if I need to expound

 

I would love to try some ORGANIC corn moonshine/whisk(e)y. And since it's not clear to some which Charleston the OP is talking about, why not talk about moonshine and WV?

 

I have to tell ya man, as an ex West Virginian, no one (including the state of WV) cares about Charleston, WV. It was like the one place not even worth visiting in the state.

 

But based on the original poster not thinking adding SC was necessary and there being no confusion with the direct replies not feeling the need to differentiate either is consistent with the fact that most people think of Charleston, SC when they just say Charleston. It may not be right, but to try to force people to see things the way you think they are supposed to be, as opposed to the way they are is just silly.

Now don't get me wrong, there are plenty of instances where South Carolinians do the exact same kind of asshole shenanigans you're guilty of, though not this time. Prime example, the other 49 states know that when you say "USC," you are referring to a university that has a long history of success in NCAA football, in Southern California.

And the one I'm most guilty of, the rest of you bastards in this country and your "barbecue" don't know what barbeque is. And I feel so sorry for you.

 

When the OP responds to the first reply with an acknowledgment that they are referring to SC, and incorrect assumption was not made. You are mentioning a lot of "possibly" and "could have" but you are really just butt-hurt for some reason that Charleston WV is excluded from beer talk, when in reality, it is a sucky beer town. As mentioned in the 1000 other threads where you chime in with the same, tired response, if he/she meant WV, they would add it. If someone meant Paris, OK or Denver, NC, they would add it.

 

Yellow mustard is NOT BBQ. It's just pulled pork with yellow mustard added. Yellow mustard pulled pork, yes! BBQ...no!

 

I hope you are aware, humor or not, I cannot like that post. I don't know if I've been going to Charleston for the beer, or that it's the only place I can think of to go to, that stopping by Sweatman's isn't out of the way when I go there.

For reasons completely unknown, WV is technically a part of the SE forum. Worthless as it may be and as southern as it isn't, it is still in the SE according to the Bros.

 

Thank god there's only one Fayettenam. Can't imagine the level of discourse in those threads.

 

WV sometimes gets a bad rap. Take away the sun, warmth, great seafood, and beaches from the much loved Hawaii, and WV is about the same. A grass skirt, however, can occasionally be spotted on Saturday nights at the Charleston Moose Lodge.

 

Obviously if people are talking about charleston, wv they would add wv especially on BA considering charleston, sc is always talked about and charleston, wv isn't. People are dumb but not that dumb. Either way it would have been figured out on about 2 posts.

 

The third post in this thread was from the OP and clearly confirmed that he was talking about Charleston, SC. By the time you posted it was very clear that Charleston, SC was indeed the city being talked about. Your just being difficult, and annoying.

And for the record, I also dont specify England when I mention London, cause its generally inferred which one I am talking about. But maybe I need to start doing that so people dont get confused and think I am talking about London, Ontario.

Charleston South Carolina is the bestest bestest town ever and I'm so glad we all agree that we should talk about it and assume that anybody that says Charleston or Charles Town or Chuckville or Charles City or Cypress Creek is actually talking about Charleston South Carolina. People surely are dumb aren't they mike?

I'm not talking about the 2nd or 3rd or 34th post. I'm talking about the title of the thread, the very first response, and my desire to clarify that there is another Charleston in the world and in this subforum, and that lowlanders shouldn't always assume that the newspaper wants to interview them (purty as they are).

Well 9 times out of 10 when someone in the SE forum says "charleston" they are talking about SC. Blame the OP. It's not my fault that Charleston has a great beer scene and lots of people ask about it. We arent trying to be that "into our selves", it's just the way it is. Charleston has a great scene

 

Charleston, SC is all that matters. We could just start referring to it as the only Charleston with a craft beer scene. Better yet, let's just always assume the Charleston in any thread title is Charleston, SC. After all, I have only seen one thread in these forums actually ask about Charleston, WV. And that OP went something like "I am stuck traveling through this area, is there and beer."
